“First off, keep in mind that this is not a brewpub--this is a production facility. They don’t have a kitchen, and the bar only serves house beers. I personally love hanging out in places like this, but if you’re looking for the pizzas and the stone-cooked meals, they’re in MLT and down by the ferry.

With that out of the way, this is a really cool place to come hang out on the weekends and watch a Hawks game or just hang out for a bunch of DK pints. It’s a working facility, for sure. The rooms are packed with kettles and tanks (lots and lots of tanks), and when there are tables out, they’re folding plastic tables. There’s a bar in the back with taplines drilled through to a gigantic keg fridge. These guys crank out a lot of beers, and there’s room for hundreds of kegs (and one forklift) in there.

Prices here are very reasonable, and you’re drinking out of a plastic cup. It kinda has a little bit of that college party feel to it, but that’s for sure part of the fun. The beers are about as fresh as they can be.“

“This place is gigantic, and right on a busy highway leading down to the Mukilteo ferry dock. They have a gigantic sign, and a gigantic parking lot. Everything about this joint is big business for sure. It’s kind of a long shoebox inside, and that must make for some awkwardness for the staff when they’re trying to get trays out. There just isn’t that much space in the walkways. But the spaces for customers are nice. The bar is big and comfortable, there are tons of booths and tables, and there are little overstuffed lounge areas in the corners here and there. There’s a lot of faux stone, and a lot of laminated wood. It does kind of feel like a lodge. There are flat screens everywhere--people clearly come in to watch the game, and the TV ratio makes that possible. They even have gas fireplaces here and there to make it feel homey. There’s enough carpentry happening that you don’t feel like you’re in a warehouse; if you have enough people together, you feel almost like you have your own room. And the noise level is commendably low. They’ve done plenty of acoustical baffling. The staff is well-trained, very chipper and efficient. They know their menu and their bar list. They’re friendly. The bar list is nicely ambitious--they have a couple dozen beers organized by style on the menu, and they have some wines and cocktails and a good single malt list. They seemed to be out of everything I wanted to try, and my first beer came out on nitro without any warning that it was on nitro. That’s fine; we found someone to drink it as soon as it was set down. But it would be nice to follow up with those kinds of details. We had fun in our little lounge area, and we enjoyed watching the game, though they weren’t able to turn on the game we all wanted to see. The menu was pretty extensive, with 12 different burgers (one for each PAC-12 school--cool!) along with steaks, pastas, a little fish and chicken, some flatbreads and apps. It took a couple visits to get my food order in, and, when I did, we didn’t hear back until fifteen minutes later that they were out of what I’d ordered. Kind of annoying, especially with no offer to buy a beer, let alone comp the entree (the replacement I ordered cost less than the original item). What I got was a decently well made burger, with potato chips that seemed store-bought but were announced as scratch-made. They seemed on par with Tim’s or Kettle. In the end, this place gives you a great environment to watch a game, and that’s a nice thing to have for a sports fan. You’re comfortable, well taken care of, and you’re eating and drinking well. But the lapses from the bar, kitchen, and service, while tiny issues, started to add up. At the end of the night, paying $37 for 3 beers and a hamburger just seemed way high for a place that wasn’t really putting their shoulder into making everything perfect. Maybe catching them on a good night would make the price seem worth it, but, as it is, this place will just hover around Plan B level when I’m looking for somewhere to watch the game--which is too bad, because everything about this place, on the surface, is just my style on game day.“

“Respecting the name, the interior feeling is really lodge-like; unfortunately it’s also horribly dark, and the screens with the games are not an exciting element, for me; pleasant service; decent selection of craft beer, for such a place, and tasters are available, that’s quite flexible; I tried only one dish and it was quite greasy, but not bad.“

“Stopped in here while passing through the area. The area has a cool beach town vibe, and this place fits right in with a mellow feel and friendly service, with to-go beers. Big selection of different beers on tap; I didn’t try the food. Will have to go back sometime.“

“Cool place right up from the edge of the sound. Small to go area up front for bottles and growlers. Service was excellent and the staff is very knowledgeable about their beers. Selection was great with lots of hoppy offerings and a range of other standard beers as well. Food was fantastic, a bit pricy but large portions help make up for it. Value is great on beer and even better for beer to go. This place is worth going out of your way for.“

“Been here done that and this is a great place for a beer. Yes it is a production house but they also have beer to try while there. No food but not to worry the beer was tasty. All the beers fresh from the source it does not get any better.“

“Great place to get stone cooking and good beer. Place has peanut shells on the floor and a good pub atmosphere. Food is really good, unfortunately they did away with their espresso encrusted steak, our favourite. Still a great place. I am derating this one a bit, after they remodeled. I don’t like the way it is set up now. It lost a lot of that homey feel, and is now more modern. With the remodel came more people and higher prices as well.“

“Great spot to hang out and enjoy some quality beers while in Mukilteo. Highlights of the sampler platter include the Industrial IPA, Whip Ale and Hefeweizen. Will definitely return to try the Winter Ale and Barley Wine when they’re on tap.“

“2010-07. Visited on a Thursday afternoon last July, this wonderfully located brewpub lets you stone-grill your own sandwiches or you can choose from a bunch of hand-tossed pizzas, with free soup available on Thursdays. They had just opened for the day and were very happy to serve us nearly a dozen of their own brews along with a tasty South Pacific and Carnivore pizza, with the IPA being particularly noteworthy. Would love to return one day.“

“Rather downtrodden building from the outside, but actually cozy inside. Feels lived in, not exceedingly aesthetic, which I like. The brews we had were all decent, but nothing special. All went quite well with the greasy pizzas. Very much a locals’ hangout near the pier. Oh, the urinal, an open keg of Anheuser-Busch’s, is hilarious!“

“I’ve been going here for years. Industrial IPA was on the forefront of the double/imperial IPA rage. Great place for a meal- I recommend the hotstone items, but the pizza is good too. Has the best urinal in the world- bar none! (you just got to see it)“

“2010-06. Nice taverny feel inside, like what you might find in a beach town? Server is super friendly and animated. Pizzas were great, The Carnivore rocked. The Pacific would have been better with tomato sauce rather than BBQ sauce. Free soup day! The signature dishes seemed to be the hot stone cooking yourself option which freaked us out enough that we didn’t find it all that appealing. (What if you under cook it?) Free wifi! Beers were a bit disappointing to be honest, a few standouts but a good number of poor ones as well. Glad we went but I wouldn’t go as out of our way to go back as we did on this trip.“

“Place looks like a dive from the outside, but inside it’s all about good beer and food. We had sandwiches where you cook the meat on a heated stone... cool and different. The beer was surprisingly good and the service was great too. The area surrounding is very scenic and it’s definitely worth a trip.“

“It’s all about the beer. Forget ambiance. I felt like I was sitting in a mobile-home extension to a community Bingo hall. Drafty, cold, painfully florescent-lit and bright, the astroturf carpeting sure didn’t add much to the ambiance, but it definitely caught the shells from our $1.25 bowl of peanuts. The surroundings were as romantic as a scene where a sailor finally gets one day of shore leave after being in the service for 2 years and stumbles into the nearest bar to port only to find a toothless etc. etc...you get the idea. We did have this amazing cave-man-like cheesesteak that was brought out on a hot granite stone that cooked the meat in front of our eyes. That part was pretty cool and I highly recommend the stone grill to everyone. The IPA and IIPA were phenomenal, top notch and well worth the drive....I wasn’t so hip on their other offerings...some had severe flaws and off flavors. We also split a pizza that was suppose to have blue cheese which tasted pretty ok, but their usage of bleu cheese dressing instead of blue cheese crumbles was definitely "different". Go for the beer, close your eyes and drink.“

“Outstanding beer is the thing here. This little place cranks out some consistently great beers, aided by the nearby brewery expansion. The food is tasty and fun, though pricey. Funky, cozy atmosphere. The biggest downside is that the seating is pretty uncomfortable if there’s a crowd.“

“A small place in a beautiful location by the sound. It doesn’t look like very much either inside or outside, but is comfortable with heavy wooden tables. The biggest disadvantage is parking. With the ferry, beach, and other businesses you may have to struggle to find a spot. They serve a sublime IPA, both the regular and "industrial", and have very good pizza. I love a beer with spicy food and personally recommend the jalapeno and pepperocini laden "chainsaw massacre" pizza. Prices are reasonable, and the service is good.“

“Arriving in Mukilteo the sun was setting the beer was cold the crowd was huge this was the place. Parking? What parking? Need to find a spot and it can be a hoof if it is a beautiful day like it was. Watch the traffic it can be busy when the ferry comes in. Sat down got the free peanuts and the bartender was ready with my order. I got more samples of some awesome brews. Vienna, Possession Porter, XXX Triple Industrial IPA and Steamer Glide stout was to finish the tasting at Diamond Knot. A traditional old brew pub that has tons of character and fun happening. They had a band playing the food looked awesome and tasted great. The character was awesome of old brewery signs and some that where very rare. They knew there beers and the place was just for adults. They do have a family friendly place that just opened up and I will stop by there when I am in town next time. This is on the water so it can be a great day trip take the family and see the sights and finish with some good brews. The IPA and s“

“Visited during Mukfest 2008 - kind of a dive but seemed clean enough and I got a table for 10 without waiting so really cant complain. Big selection of brews but none of the ones I really wanted to try - oh well. Food was a skosh above average. Fun to watch people burn themselves all night long on those retarded hot stones. Lots of TV’s - bathrooms need a renovation. Not worth going out of your way for but decent regardless.“

“Visited on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 12th. Very warm pub atmosphere, worn wood and furniture through out. Not run down, just very authentic. Right by the ferry dock, so has a very Port town feeling to the place. The bartender was very friendly, and extremely accommodating in allowing me to try smaller pours of their beers (who needs a full pint of IIPA when you need to drive back to Seattle?) I didn’t order any food, but what I saw coming out looked very good. The crowd was a great mix of locals who appreciated good beer, beer nerds and other general tourists. Even at 3PM on Tuesday, there were at least 20-30 folks in the place. I was staying in downtown Seattle, and the drive up took me about 50 minutes.

82 = ★★★½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Wood everywhere in this rather cozy space, with a really nice lineup of beers onhand including their famous IPA, Industrial IPA and Icebreaker Barleywine. The table next to us was filled with local fishermen, which just speaks of the character of this place. When ordering a sandwich, you will be cooking part of it yourself. Kind of fun, but I ordered the pizza, which was nice. Staff was fairly friendly and helpful. Very worth the trip up to here from Seattle.“

“Visited 06Jul2007. Good beer. Good food. As said by many others, don’t bring your kids. That is one thing I truly dislike about Washington. Had to deal with this growing up as my Uncle owned bars in Washington and I could never go in the places even though they served food. DK could allow kids if they wanted... http://www.leg.wa.gov/documents/wsr/2005/22/05-22-022.htm they just don’t want kids in there I have to assume. Again... Good beer, good food. Anti-family.“

“I had a bad experience here on first visit and it’s definitely time to re-rate. Great beers, really nice staff--not all of them know beer, and they’re not always equally efficient, but they’re easily nice enough. The food’s really good, and the beer ranges from solid to pretty incredible in a couple places. Conveniently located near the ferry dock for travelers, road trippers, etc. I make it in here more often than plenty of places closer to my house. Great place.“

“Read the earlier ratings. All the good stuff is so true. Murderously great IPA. Fantastic pizza. Heck, if you get there about 11:30 on a week day parking is not all that difficult (at least the two times I’ve been there). Don’t go to Seattle without going to Mukilteo. When in Mulkilteo it’s Ivars or Diamond Knot. Send the wine drinkers to Ivars, and the ale lovers to DK.“

“This is a fun place to go across from the mukilteo lighthouse. Parking is sparse unless you pay about 5 bucks to park and the state park. Diamon Knot IPA is one of the best IPA’s I have ever tasted. “On arrival here I was a little freaked out at the look of the place. The Brewery only takes 1/3 of the building. The other space is occupied by a beach shop. However, upon entrance the Brewery looks pretty nice inside. The whole reason coming here was to try out the IPA and it was as great as advertised. Defintely will be making more visits for the IPA. The food however is about average, nothing really special except most of the menu is served on volcanic rock and you must cook your food. Service wasn’t too great, slow service when there was barely anybody else inside at the time. A must visit for their beer however!“

“I love this place. The food is really good because you get to cook some of it yourself. If it goes wrong then you only have yourself to blame. Try a few of their pizzas (you don’t get to cook those). Those are really good. This place offers a couple of great beers. The Industrial IPA you can really sink your teeth into. A couple of gripes are the first come first serve seating that can be a real problem. Once you get more than a couple parties waiting, then what happens? You can end up waiting all night and not get seated. They don’t let children in the place even when the child is less than 6 months old. I guess they’re afraid we’ll give the little tyke a beer. Good thing there is more than one dinner option in the immediate area. The re-conditioned Ivar’s is really nice and serve at a minimum the Diamond Knot IPA. Nice alternative when you’re toting a 6 mo old.“

“Pretty busy place when I dropped by. Lots of choice in terms of the brews. A surprising number of British-style brews considering how good their IPA and IIPA are. The service was very friendly and better yet, efficient. Inside is fairly industrial looking, but I like it. A small section with a sofa and an easy chair sort of separates the bar area from the restaurant. We had some of the pizza which my girlfriend enjoyed more than I did, but the sandwiches at the table next to looked and smelled great. I liked the AB keg urinal as well. There isn’t too much to complain about here. Cool place that I’ll definitely be back to. I’ve seen loads of places with peanuts on the floor, but its strange in a place with carpet.“

“First off, we got there right at 11AM and found that their web site is wrong. Sat they open at Noon. As soon as the door was opened we went in and chatted w/ Chris who was very friendly and helpfull and was even willing to take a big risk when the 21yr old in out little group forgot his ID. He gave us a little tour of the quite small brewing facility and elaborated that they are working on a larger, brewing only location to get their production up a bit with plans for bottleing. Yeah! The food was good, Ruben and BBQ sandwhich’s came out on a hot granite rock. We had the sampler of eveything they had, but they were out of the industrial IPA. The beers were pretty good esp the IPA and the Hef. Rustic casual place, in a quaint turisty location right on the water. Great experiance.“

“The A-B urinal is definitely worth an ambience point by itself! But part of the ambience is the location near the ferry dock along the Mukilteo Waterfront...One has to make a small pilgrimage either by ferry or off of I-5 to get here, but the food (numerous StoneGrill selections plus excellent pub fare like the locally prepared bratwurst) and beers are both outstanding...The service is always attentive and the overall experience is always ultra-casual...Buy or bring your growler...I always take the Industrial IPA home with me...“

They jumped right after us as soon as we entered - almost spooked by the presence of my 1 year old daughter - strange. Anyways, I didn’t see any peanuts on the floor but I did see the rest of the decor, very cool place. The food was awesome, I had the Stoned Reuben that’s cooked on the heating rock brought to your table. Their samplers come in 4s so I only had 1. They only had about 7 beers on tap at the time. “I visited this little gem in August 2003 while on vacation in Washington State. Would have missed it had I not realized that it was just a hop skip and a jump from the Boeing factory that I had taken a tour of. There were at least 10 of their high quaility beers on tap - you must try the IPA and Industrial IPA. Has a very friendly, down-home atmosphere with locals walking in and the bartender knowing exactly what they want. There are several couches full of folks that look like they make this their second home (which I can’t blame them). Food is serviceable - had a pizza. But the beer is what brings the folks in here. Highly recommended. “

“Visited on Easter Sunday, 2003, so we basically had the entire place to ourselves. Has the look and feel of a neighboorhood bar that may seen better days, which adds to its charm. If you grab a table near the window, you can watch ferries on the water and jets flying into the nearby Boeing factory, which is kinda cool. The highlight is the beer, of course, with their mindblowing Industrial IPA the highlight. But the sampler rocks, too - each sample was about half a pint.“

“For a place that is basically a tavern, Diamond Knot rules. The regulars seem more used to beer geeks dropping by than they did when I first visited, mind you, and I like peanut shells on the floor anyway. The beer is outstanding, which account for an unusually high selection score from me (as brewpubs go). The steak sandwich highly recommended. Look out for the giant state park parking lot next door - even if it's empty they'll ticket you for not paying...I didn't have any US quarters but that's okay I didn't pay the ticket either. A pain in the ass to find...follow signs for the ferries. Worth the 20 min (each way) detour off the I-5.“
