“I visited this bottle store and bar last week at Niort. That' s a sort of an earthquake in Poitou ! I was always amazed why Niort didn't have a proper beer oriented bar. Of course, I don't count V and B, La Cervoiserie or La Minute Blonde. The owner (very friendly) just opened a few months ago after Covid confinement ; hard times... This bar in the center of Niort. Inside the bottle store : 100% French craft I think. There are some Belgian classic and Trappist on the bar menue. The manager told me he wanted to select beers from all the regions of France. And if he thought the beers for a brewery was easy to find nearby to remove it from its shelves. The selection was interesting : I found beers Normandy (Ragnar with a smoked porter and a Scottish ale ; Ste Mère l'Eglise), Gironde (Burdigala), Limousin (La Corrézienne, a barleywine), Pays-Basque ( a RIS from Etxeko Bob's beer) and 2 beers from PACA (La Minotte, not easy to find nearby). He also had some beers from Vendée. I was disappointed he didn't have beers from La Chamoise even if that' easy to find in Niort... He also had a lot of gift boxes with beers selected to offer. For the bar part, the beer menue was bit strange ; selection on colors of beers (not a good omen). That made me think you can order beers on a website (also selected with colors...). About the beer menue, I could order an "Imperial Stout" without knowing the beer. I guess that was a Boris Goudenov from La Corrézienne I found in the store ! Also strange, no tap available today. Nevertheless, I tasted 2 beers (a stout from Burdigala and Sulauze L'iglou). Nice. Ok price. I had to wait a bit. Maybe he is alone to cope with everything. I will come back by the end of the year.“

“Another V&B in Niort : beer store (mostly belgian, some german beers, a few british and american) and wine store. Pleasant bar with bench, good TV to spend afternoon a rugby match with friends. Pleasant staff. A "Classic V&B". Nice touch. Clean.“
