“Downtown location for this one with a long and rather narrow barroom. Six different, mostly regional, cask ales, and lots of craft beers on the taps. Good vibe and popular on a Friday eve. Polite service. (Visited with Finn 18.10.2019).“

“A medium sized freehouse in the upper part of Tunbridge Wells. Dark wood and dark brick interiors with a patio in front, and the bar to the rear serving different section of the place. No Fonthill beers at our stay, but seven cask ales and quite a few craft beers on keg to choose from. Decent food; tasty fishcakes for me. Polite service. (Visited with Finn 18.10.2019).“

“Really a special spoons located about ten minutes walk from the train station in Tunbridge Wells. Located in a monumental Opera House from 1902, still in use with well-kept stalls, balconies and stage. We visited the pub during JDW's autumn festival, and the pub had a few of them on hand-pumps, but also four on gravity including some local beers. Attentive and helpful service, and, as usual, a decent traditional English breakfast. (Visited with Finn 18.10.2019).“

“6 ales and 3 ciders on cask plus approx. 10 kegs. Fonthill beers are brewed downstairs and usually available but they do not always brew so you could hit a gap and not get any. All others are rotating guests. One of the better pubs in Tunbridge Wells beer-wise. Am amazed I had to add it to Ratebeer!“

“Visited April 2017, Brexit ale tour. - During lunch hour whe the Pantiles Tap was still empty. Nice basic and traditional cask bitter selection of locals and a few international macros. Efficient student service, relaxed atmosphere in the otherwise oddly fancy-clad Pantiles shopping street. Ales seemed to be in good condition, pub grub was pretty basic, value fair.“

“Good selection of quality cask/keg/bottle/canned beer. From local to national to foreign small producers. Keen and knowledgeable staff. Well worth a visit. Please note if the board says 2/3 pint that means maximum size so they sell in halves and 1 thirds too.“

“A good selection (11 handpumps) of several real ales from many new micro breweries despite being a Greene king pub! Opposite Tunbridge Wells station. Unlike other good pubs in town this one skips craft kegs and specialises in real ale/cask.“

“Long narrow bar with one of the best beer lineups in Kent. Sparsely furnished with a few tables and leather sofas. 5 handpulls 14 keg taps and a more than decent Uk and Belgian bottle list. Decent value fir the beer available and area. Food is pork pies scotch eggs and cheese and charcuterie“

“New bar setting the standard for beer, whisky and overall concept for T Wells and further afield. Belgian beers including real Lambiks, Real Ales and Craft beers, plus delicious locally sourced meats and snacks. A winner from the start. Worth a very large detour.“

“Little shop very close to Tunbridge Well’s town center, opposite a great Indian/Kerala restaurant. Good selection of about 100 bers, most of them local, including seasonals. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.“

“Primarily an eating establishment with a good pub/bar on the ground floor. Two real ale pumps with the beer kept in excellent condition. Wine can be purchased by the bottle at a reasonable price (for a restaurant). Chairs and tables are solid pine blending in with the exposed beams. Staff are friendly and efficient and they offer a 10% loyalty card. Being a vegetarian I’m hard to please food-wise hence my rating, however carnivores may rate higher if the blood running off the plates of my fellow diners was anything to go by. Their website gives the impression of a stuffy establishment where a suit and tie needs to be worn to gain entry, this is far from the truth. It’s fairly laid back and the staff dress casually as do the clientele. Worth nipping in for a pint or two even if you don’t intend to eat. “

“Went here on a rainy Sunday for some food and a beverage or two. Ragged Trousers is a small trendy bar with outdoor seating on the Pantiles. They had 3 well-kept cask ales on offer, which at this time were from Royal Tunbridge Brewery, Larkins and Adnams. Bottle selection is fairly standard and includes the likes of Goose Island IPA and Brooklyn. Food was tasty and contemporary. The music and atmosphere was laid back and alternative. A nice place to spend an afternoon.“
