70 /100 Nugget Market - Vacaville (Grocery Store) 130 BROWNS VALLEY PKWY If someone told you: “You are in Whole Foods” you would believe it. Beer selection is also similar. Some very nice Russian River and Belgian beers, which you can find anywhere. Nevertheless, I love the store and it’s fantastic food selections. |
68 /100 5500 WEBER RD Nice little Taproom on a country farm road, not too far from the freeway. Dropped by on a north-east bay brewery tour. Flights of four for $12. Pints $8, half pints: $4. Spacious interior and exterior. 32oz growlers $12. 12beers and one hard seltzer on tap. Easy drinking styles. |
82 /100 University of Beer (Restaurant) 196 NUT TREE BLVD.SUITE F 70 beers on tap. Good, friendly service. The food was good, on the expensive side but during happy hour it's buy one get one free. They do flights and 6oz pours. |
72 /100 University of Beer (Restaurant) 196 NUT TREE BLVD.SUITE F iPad beer list. Many beers. Food menu is not huge, but the food is very good. Order at bar; delivery to table. It all worked very well. I think they do flights, and they do "half pints". The across the lot Rock N Brews has gone, so this is a nice replacement - beer and food wise. |
56 /100 Costco Vacaville (Grocery Store) 1051 HUME WAY Another Costco stocking some local to it brews: Blue Frog / Heretic. And some other good stuff. I got a new to me beer. Worth checking the beer if you're in the store - or maybe even if getting gas. |
78 /100 The Brass Tap - Vacaville (Restaurant) 783 ORANGE DRIVE A relatively new establishment of the franchise in Vacaville. It’s a bit small as it gets crowded on some nights. A big bar with over 50 taps and a great menu that I describe as upscale burgers in a basket. No there aren’t any baskets, but very nice versions of familiar appetizers and sandwiches. |
80 /100 The Brass Tap - Vacaville (Restaurant) 783 ORANGE DRIVE Nice big bar with 60 taps, a nice bottle list. Plenty of seating. Fast and friendly service. Great burgers. |
60 /100 Beverages and More (BevMo!) - Vacaville (Beer Store) 1621 E MONTE VISTA AVE, STE D fairly standard Bevmo as well...maybe slightly bigger. Convenient to stop in off 1-80, vut same pros and cons of others in the chain. |
68 /100 Beverages and More (BevMo!) - Vacaville (Beer Store) 1621 E MONTE VISTA AVE, STE D Like most of the other BevMo’s around. Decent sized selection of beers. |
60 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Vacaville (Restaurant) 190 NUT TREE PKWY Looks like the other BJ’s I’ve been too. Service was really slow. Food and beer was good. |
78 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Vacaville (Restaurant) 190 NUT TREE PKWY Nice beer selection, very good beers. The service was not great but it is a good place for atmosphere |
46 /100 Nugget Market - Vacaville (Grocery Store) 130 BROWNS VALLEY PKWY Ratebeer thinks I should rate this place so who am I to argue. An upscale grocery store. The beer is definitely better than "grocery store" and since there are multiple check-out lanes I guess the service is good. The food is good, value is meh, but you are at Nugget in Vacaville so it as expected.
Nothing special...Someone got barrel aged Santas Helper apparently but I’ve never been so lucky. |
80 /100 Nugget Market - Vacaville (Grocery Store) 130 BROWNS VALLEY PKWY One of my favorite places to stop between the Bay Area and Sacramento. I always find something here that isn’t commonly found at your local BevMo. Had a chance to talk with the beer buyer one evening. He used to work for Stone and is trying to bring some variety to the N. Cal beer selection. Well, in the central valley region anyway. A good variety of brewers and styles are represented: specialty beers from Goose Island, for example, good Belgians, and plenty of US and European bottles. Most beers are stocked in the cooler but be sure to wander around the wine bottles because there are usually end of aisle displays with specialty or seasonal beers. There’s also a shelf of Belgian ales and sakes. I also liked that this was one of the first stores in the region where I was able to find a bottle of Maker’s 46. (I know it’s a whiskey, not a beer, but it shows this store is successful in its pursuit at stocking good labels.) There are a lot of food options. Of course, it is a grocery store, but there is also a great deli and coffee counter with wraps, fresh baked goods, and unique and flavorful coffee options. Definitely worth stopping if you’re on your way to/from a weekend trip or are looking to pick up something to drink after work. |
34 /100 Beverages and More (BevMo!) - Vacaville (Beer Store) 1621 E MONTE VISTA AVE, STE D Pretty good selection, not too marked up. Most of the employees are idiots. I have been to a few bev-mo’s and they are all the same.... Much better than safeway, but much worse than a real beer store that cares what they carry or even know. |
68 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Vacaville (Restaurant) 190 NUT TREE PKWY Service can be slow and unprofessional at times. Good apps and beers. Sit at the bar and you should be fine. |
64 /100 Nugget Market - Vacaville (Grocery Store) 130 BROWNS VALLEY PKWY It’s not constant. But they have rare beers (for the area) on a consistent basis. They also have a good every day selection. Today they had Dissident and Slow Elk. Seem to have good distribution connections. |
56 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Vacaville (Restaurant) 190 NUT TREE PKWY Went on a very busy Saturday night. I had the seven beer sampler. I was quite impressed with the beer. Service and food are typical of a chain brew pub. Great selection of burgurs and fries. Try the Grand Cru if it is available. |
70 /100 Beverages and More (BevMo!) - Vacaville (Beer Store) 1621 E MONTE VISTA AVE, STE D Just like any other BevMo. Lots to choose from. They don’t have it all, but a very large selection for a chain store. |
60 /100 Beverages and More (BevMo!) - Vacaville (Beer Store) 1621 E MONTE VISTA AVE, STE D It’s a BevMo. Worth a trip every so often to see whether there are any surprises. |
66 /100 Beverages and More (BevMo!) - Vacaville (Beer Store) 1621 E MONTE VISTA AVE, STE D Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon. Reminscent of other BevMo stores. Has a fair sake section without much in the way of mead or ciders. Has a nice regional beer selection with plenty of seasonals. It seems like every Bevmo has 1 or 2 rare, unique beers, so it is always fun to see what they have. I found some Drake’s here. |
50 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Vacaville (Restaurant) 190 NUT TREE PKWY This is virtually identical to the BJ’s in Sacramento-Natomas (see my rating of that place). Same lineup of beers. I had the opened faced chili cheeseburger, which was very ordinary. The service was very slow and rather poor. The guy next to me didn’t get his food order rang in, despite him ordering it. |
