80 /100 Brickhouse Food & Drink (Restaurant) 4746 WASHINGTON ST. Comfortable street seating for our initial visit. A modest selection of draft, craft beer choices, but favorably local MN faire, and served well. Excellent food and attentive service. Excellent weather enhanced the ambiance. |
80 /100 2222 4TH STREET Part of an amazing, old world, warehouse-style, entertainment center, with a rear, step down entry into a ratzkeller-like, low lit taproom, with booth-like tables, and upright wooden chairs surrounding the bar. Beers were solid, liked the pretzel variations, friendly patrons, and the nice, old school vibe, even with the servers acting a little distracted. A comfortable place to celebrate my recent 70th. |
84 /100 Haskell’s - White Bear Lake (Beer Store) 1219 GUN CLUB RD Went here for the first time on April 21, 2018. Sounds like it was good before, but what I encountered was a terrific selection, and I'm guessing a step-up from what folks encountered 3-4 years back. There's clearly an enhanced focus on beer now. |
78 /100 2222 4TH STREET A dimly lit taproom with a bit of a old school warehouse vibe. Plenty of seating and a large bar. Service was good and bartenders knew their beers. A dozen taps with predetermined flights available. No food on site and prices are in line with the area. A solid taproom worth a visit. |
82 /100 2222 4TH STREET Nice taproom located near the old armory in White Bear Lake. Lots of wood and brick in the interior. They even have cut growlers for light covers over the bar. Three rooms to drink in plus a patio area out front. Fast, friendly service. Beer is average but it is a fun place to have one. Worth a stop if you are anywhere close. |
82 /100 Elevated Beer Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 2141 4TH ST nice size store very good pick six selection little pricey but happy to find some things I had been looking for will return again for sure |
78 /100 Washington Square Bar & Grill (Restaurant) 4736 WASHINGTON SQUARE Nice little place with patio service was solid food was ok prices were good tap list was nice would go again |
70 /100 2222 4TH STREET Good tap room. The interior is dim with wood and brick everywhere, a better ambiance for a cold winter than summer drinking, for my tastes at least. About ten beers on. Staff was friendly enough. I will come back. |
88 /100 Elevated Beer Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 2141 4TH ST This place is now my local favorite - open for just about 1 year, this is the sister shop to the one in Minneapolis. Huge selection of beer with a decent selection of other booze too. Tons of cold room / cooler space. Lots of bottles that have been sold out for a couple weeks at places closer to the metro (hello, Uncle Jacob!). Competitive prices. If you happen out this way and need beer, I highly recommend it! |
72 /100 The Cellars Wines and Spirits (Beer Store) 2675 COUNTY ROAD E Located in the shopping area near Festival Foods in southern White Bear Lake. The store mostly focuses on wine and liquor but there are a couple of long shelves of beer and of course several refrigerated sections. I was able to find a things like Porterhouse Oyster Stout and Avery’s Kaiser. I would say that this is more of a local store than a destination store. But if you are in the area it might be worth a quick stop. |
78 /100 Summit Liquor (Beer Store) 2000 E COUNTY RD E This store has really improved the past couple of years. They have worked hard to expand their beer selection to include local crafts as well as more regional and international beers. They still have tastings most weekends as well. The location makes more of locals type store as it is a bit off the highway. However, it is now worth stopping by if you are fairly close. |
80 /100 Washington Square Bar & Grill (Restaurant) 4736 WASHINGTON SQUARE Good place in downtown; they rotate their taps pretty regularly so there is always something new to try; place is better to visit in the summer time when the patio is open because the inside is a little bit on the small side and can fill up pretty quickly; food is good; service is good; definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area. |
80 /100 Donatelli’s (Restaurant) 2692 E COUNTY RD E Good place to drop for a bite to eat and some Minnesota beer. They have Summit, Surly, Lift Bridge, and Big Wood but they also a some of the standard big brewery beers. Service is good and the food is good. Worth a stop if you are close. |
78 /100 Haskell’s - White Bear Lake (Beer Store) 1219 GUN CLUB RD Decent place to check for beer, the selection has been getting better recently. They are primarily a wine store but there are a couple of beer guys there. The prices are pretty reasonable. Worth the drive if you are close. |
80 /100 2222 4TH STREET Awesome taproom. 10 beers on tap, flights of 5 for $11 - not terrible. Had some solid beers this day. Parking is free and pretty easy. I LOVE the vibe of this place - brick, wood, chillbro all over the place. Great beer drinking joint. |
70 /100 2222 4TH STREET Pretty neat little place. A nice-ish main bar area with some cool wood accents gives way to an overflow area with high tables and standing room next to some grain storage and milling area. Open to see into the brewery area, some cool copper kettles, MLT, etc, and standard SS fermentors make up everything you can see. Service was really quick and friendly. Pretzels on all the tables which was a really nice touch that isn’t seen too often around here. I thoroughly enjoyed the smoked rye ale I had, with the saison just being OK. Prices were a bit high I thought, and the lack of a "build your own" taster flight was disappointing but understandable from a sales standpoint. Overall, I’d be happy to return to check out more of their beers |
68 /100 2222 4TH STREET Chilled here with The Hoff and CLevar for a bit last night. Pro tip: there is a parking lot off 3rd Street that is right at the entrance of the tap room. Lots of seating in the main bar area, they also opened up part of the brewery with some tables to stand at. Very attentive servers. Average beer. |
64 /100 2222 4TH STREET Nice place with a fair amount of seating and its own parking lot. 6 beers available, flights of 5 for $11, pints were $5 or $6. Service was fast and friendly and free pretzels on the tables. |
80 /100 Haskell’s - White Bear Lake (Beer Store) 1219 GUN CLUB RD Quickly becoming my favorite stop in the suburbs. This is a wine store first and foremost. If their beer guy is in, he will do a great job showing you what is new and limited. Most of the staff just know how to run the register. They need another aisle, as it is now very difficult to walk down the one dedicated to beer - they put a lot of product right on the floor, which is a bit annoying. On the other hand, their prices are much better than most places around town (by 1-2 dollars) and often have things a few days or a few weeks beyond when sold through at other places. Quick and easy stop off the highway. |
60 /100 Haskell’s - White Bear Lake (Beer Store) 1219 GUN CLUB RD I drive out here every once in a while because they always have beer on sale (clearance). The selection is decent and pretty well organized with brewers. Help is rather muted unless your looking for wine, but there willing to look in back if you ask. Prices are very fair if not above average at times! If your in the area there is no reason not to stop, because you never know what you may find! |
74 /100 Summit Liquor (Beer Store) 2000 E COUNTY RD E Kinda spendy and way off the freeway. great if you live in the neighborhood. they have a byo 6pack but not all bottle are available. Not many doppelbocks |
94 /100 Washington Square Bar & Grill (Restaurant) 4736 WASHINGTON SQUARE It’s close to home. You can get a fine selection of taps here. A bit pricey, but who isn’t these days. The staff knows their stuff and quick to refill your glass. |
48 /100 Summit Liquor (Beer Store) 2000 E COUNTY RD E It’s really kind of sad, i walked in and i seen empty coolers, briefly looked around and left. |
74 /100 Summit Liquor (Beer Store) 2000 E COUNTY RD E Nice little beer store for the out*of*towner staying in the area. Decent selection of Belgians, European, and American craft brews. Probably not comparable to other, bigger stores in the M/SP area, but for the location, it’s not too shabby. I definitely recommend this place if you are staying nearby. |
76 /100 Summit Liquor (Beer Store) 2000 E COUNTY RD E Solid store....Fairly decent selection of Micro’s and domestic’s, not much for imports and rares while I was there. Thay said they were working on it. Overall a pleasant experience...... |
82 /100 Summit Liquor (Beer Store) 2000 E COUNTY RD E Awesome selection!
They have a beer guy that does tastings on Saturday’s and will order anything that you want (provided that it is available).
The store has recently change management and they are expanding their already huge selection every week.
Worth the trip!
