Chicken + Beer (Restaurant)
6000 N TERMINAL PARKWAY CONCOURSE D
“Visited while waiting for a delayed flight. Nice location, with a lively restaurant, and pleasant decor. The servers were ornery and slow, but not too bad for an airport bar. Remarkably extensive beer list, including tons of fun, local cans. The food was tasty enough. Prices are egregious, as usual, and worse - the prices aren't on the menu, which is poor. Not too bad for an airport bar, and probably the best one in ATL.“

“Visited Thanksgiving afternoon, when both their own web site and Google maps were showing them open. Found them closed. When a business does not bother to be open, or post accurate hours, it should not expect a repeat visit.“

“Quick beer and lunch during a 2 hour ATL layover. The beer was cold but the selection could have been a bit more plentiful. Only five sweetwater taps. I had the chicken sandwich, which was good but the chicken was tough from a hard cook. The fries were really good. Overall it was a good airport experience.“

“Located at the airport, departure E. Clean bar, cozy atmosphere, huge selection of beers. At least 40. Also lots of Georgina local beer at the menu. Friendly staff. Had the cauliflower soup - very tasty. If it happens you are at the airport and got enough time - that's the place to go.“

“This sports-themed brewery has an open interior with plenty of tables and two bars that serve different lists of beers. Staff is welcoming and helpful - when I visited they were understaffed, but who isn't these days? He did his best. Parking is good, plus they are convenient to MARTA. They play music at an acceptable level, loud enough to enjoy but not so loud it drowns out conversation. There are plenty of TVs, most tuned to sports stations but all were muted when I dropped by. Definitely worth visiting.“

“Interior is somehow both open and cozy - big windows make it seem open, booths and tables close to the bar make it cozy. But you're here for the beer - and that is great. I've never had a disappointing brewski here. The service is first-rate, even when they're busy. If their parking is full, they have an overflow lot about half a block away. They also have a cozy little cottage for intimate events. Drag(on) yourself to Fire Maker and have a pint or two, or a flight - and maybe take home a six-pack or a crowler.“

“This Hop City has as much emphasis on wine and other potent potables as beer, but they have an impressive selection. Interior seems a little cramped, though they have plenty of merchandise to offer. You can buy cans and bottles to take home, as well as sample some at their bar. You can order food from the upstairs Boxcar, too. The people working there know how to make you feel welcome and can guide you to the sort of beer you like. Parking is plentiful, and it's a nice walk from West End MARTA rail.“

“Large space in the West End market. Easy to combine with Wild Heaven and Monday Night. They only had a few of their own beers on on my visit, and the two we tried were hard to finish. Very loud music. Did not particularly enjoy.“

“Somewhat understated trendy vibe. Big selection of lagers, and a few other things. One of the absolute best lager breweries in the US. The Czech beers off the sidepour were absurdly good. Merch game also very strong. I would like small pours so I could try everything, but otherwise no complaints.“

“Concourse E. A granite and glass modern vibe. The server was surprisingly friendly and quick, for an airport bar. Only a few taps, and most everything is common. Still, fun stop, to kill some time.“

“Had a beer in the cellar space. There seems to be several spaces that I didn't explore. The bar was crowded and low-key. The service was slow and ambivalent - requiring the tap number, because they didn't know the list. The tap list was varied and interesting, covering the gamut from light to heavy, and hyper-local to national brands. Didn't shop the bottles. Fun spot, but secondary to the breweries in proximity.“

“Next to Hop City in the West End market along the beltway. Big, surprisingly cozy space. The bartenders were helpful and friendly. They knew their list and were enthusiastic about it. The list itself was solid and varied, and everything tried was solid. Beautiful location, and excellent beer.“

“Big building in the West End market along the beltway. Open, airy, and industrial, with barrel rooms visible, and a pizza place to one side. The patio area is friendly and cozy, with secluded fire pits around. The bartender was helpful and knowledgeable. The tap list is fantastic, with a wide range of styles and ABVs, including several rarities and barrel-aged gems. Enjoyable place, and excellent beer.“

“I walked by this place so many times and finally made a stop. A Saturday night gave this a different vibe than I expected, though shouldn't be a surprise. It had a club with DJ's and bros atmosphere but still plenty of good beer on tap and efficient service. The tap list includes local quality stuff. The old brick walls and warm decor are comforting and if I had been here on a weekday afternoon to relax in the outdoor area, it'd likely fit what an old man like me is in the mood to do.“

“Terrapin’s ATL airport Tap House is upstairs in terminal D and is a nice and quiet option if you’re stuck at the airport. The space is nice, wood paneled walls, not too dark or too bright. There are about 16 beers on tap, about half of which are Terrapin and half of which are macro. There’s a limited food menu. Service was fine. Prices are outrageous but it’s the airport. Not a bad option if you’re already here.“

“I parked at the 20 minute parking. A bit hard to find, go in the market, then first left. Beer selection is very good and the mead selection is great. Prices seemed reasonable. Service was very good. They break up all the packs on the shelves, plus a fair amount of singles on the shelves. Singles in the refrigerated cases on one end, however refrigerated packs cannot be broken up.“

“We stopped here on 24.7.2022 on our way from Birmingham to Ashville. Located in a very green and relaxing area of Atlanta. Very well made place, a bit commercial but worthwhile to be visited Some beers are poured directly from the tanks. The IPA we had was absolutely ok.“

“This place can be hard to find, being tucked away in the Chattahoochee Industrial area, but it's worth a hunt. Service is very good - they are great at handling crowds. You can get pints, half-pours or flights, as well as cans to take home. Seating both indoors and out is plentiful, and they even have a play area for the small fry.“

“VIsited on a Tuesday evening for dinner and a beer. Located in the Atlantic Station development in Midtown Atlanta. Parking is below the development and expansive. Typical setup for a Yard House, though on the smaller side for one of their locations. Mostly restaurant seating, though plenty of room and the oval bar in the center of the room. Also a smaller patio section off the side of the restaurant. Food menu is the same as all other Yard House though quality was lower (super salty) than I am used to at Yard House. Beer menu was vast, through light on local Atlanta / Georgia selections. If you are nearby, worth the stop, otherwise better options are all over Atlanta. (Just ok) I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Had four hours to kill between flights and this was a good stop. On the concourse but the vibe at the bar is an escape from the airport experience. Sweetwater beers served here and the beer quality is good. Surprised that the pint glasses aren't cheater pints. Haven't seen the check yet but a nice surprise. Chicken fingers were served hot and were decent. Service ok. Prices seem decent for food at least, for an airport venue anyway. If you're in terminal B this is probably the best stop.“

“If you're stuck in the ATL airport and want to drink Georgian craft beer, this is one of the best options. It's located upstairs in the middle of the D concourse and doesn't seem to get as much traffic as some of the bars that everyone has to walk right by. It was a slow travel day anyway, late Monday afternoon, and Terrapin Taphouse was completely empty except for me. A good variety of their catalog was available, about five draft lines along with six or eight more can options. It's expensive, as in airport prices, but not more than anywhere else around. Service was very friendly.“

“Neighborhood bar with the long bar on one side and booths on the other. Looks like there are two large rooms except that and the patio outside. One of those places where everybody knows each other, people exchange jokes and has very familiar atmosphere. They have around 40 taps which range from big US macros and national craft brews to local micros like Halfway Crooks. Loved the story behind the bar and late owner which printed on the menus. Even if it's not a classic beer geek destination this place is worth visiting.“

The Tap on Ponce (Beer Store)
675 PONCE DE LEON AVE.
“Located inside the huge market hall this place works pretty much as a crowler/growler/bottle shop. If you want to drink at the market hall you'll get a plastic glass. As others mentioned you're limited at 16 oz crowlers which can be a bummer for tick heads. With 44 taps, plenty of styles and breweries everybody should be able to find something for themselves. If not there is a good selection of bottles, some special releases as well. Friendly service.“

“Plenty of space here since it has terrace upstairs and bar room on the ground level. Pretty clean, neat modern interior without too many details. They had about 10 beers available, mostly classic German/Czech lager styles, a Wit, Shandy and couple of Pale Ale/IPAs. I went for lagers and they were really good, could give run for the money to every Czech or German brewery out there. Service was a bit, well, different. You need to scan the QR code and order through app. Was bit of a hassle to get all the card info entered, but once it's set up it works very well. I miss the interaction, but I believe it was made this way because of the pandemic. Although it's a bit away from other Atlanta beer place this brewery was well worth visiting.“

“My local by during my Atlanta stay. Couple of benches outside with long and narrow bar room and plenty of room in the back. Somewhat dark interior. They had around 40 taps on including both quality imports and local craft beer. Extensive bottle list which includes plenty of various vintages which are priced accordingly. Fast and kind service, they seemed to know their beers. Had a burger which was tasty. Wouldn't call it a destination beer place, but certainly worth checking out if you''re in the area.“

“Fairly easy to find, with an unpretentious exterior and interior, this is worth a visit. Servers make you feel welcome, and check on you frequently so you won't go thirsty. “The fact that a hip hop themed brewery is one block away from a metal themed brewery just screams Atlanta. Hippin Hops has a lot going for it like the lively atmosphere, a DJ spinning legit tunes, and a great location in a very cool neighborhood. Service was prompt and friendly, prices are in line with the rest of the city. The mash up of old, corny beer signs and cool hip hop is one of a kind. I'd like to have more of the beers before I have a final judgment on the overall quality of the product. I only had a saison which was a bit sweet and thick for the style.“

“Visited during yayschoolisover trip with redhot13, on a recommendation from Mitch Steele. Wow, a lot of money was put into this place. Beautiful design inside and out. Patio looks fantastic, but we were not allowed out due to rain, so we sat on a couch in the lobby-type area which is open on two sides. Did a flight of the non-Belgian type of beers and they were just so-so, but the lady enjoyed her craft cocktail. We didn't have food, but am interested in trying for certain. Servers were attentive and knowledgeable. Great location, as is within 2 miles of probably 4-5 other breweries. We will return to sit in the biergarten and definitely try the Belgian type beers that they appear to be known for.“

“This is a sprawling brewpub right on the Beltline. Crazy how much this area has changed. It was a slow process getting a beer but it was very, very busy and the five or six people ahead of me in line had no idea how to order a drink. The beer was pretty good, I wouldn't say it demonstrates the attention to detail that some of the top notch breweries in the city do but there weren't glaring flaws either. They do have a kitchen but I did not eat on this visit.“

“This is a big beer store with a bar right up front. They had a few TV's and food from their upstairs kitchen so it is a comfortable place to sit for a beer, not just browse the coolers for to go stuff. The selection is quite broad and it seems like product moves pretty well. Service was great. It's located in this massive complex alongside breweries and a distillery so it's definitely worth a stop.“

“This is one of the most faithfully European breweries I have been to in the States. The interior has convincing Belgian cafe atmosphere. There is a shaded rooftop patio which I took advantage of. The beer list is right up my alley. It's mostly classic Belgian or Czech styles including three or four different pilsners. Do we really need four different pilsners on one brewery's draft list? Probably not but I applaud the ambition. The beer is so, so good. Meticulous attention to mash schedule and water chemistry makes the beers with simpler recipes just spring to life. The mouthfeel of these beers was impeccable across the board. I highly, highly recommend this place.“
