58 /100 OLD PORTSMOUTH ROAD
“Brunning & Price pubs normally have decent food and unlike other gastropubs they also tend to not forget that they are a pun and have some local beers on. This particular one in an ancient looking stone and timber building... an old school... a barn? No, apparently it was only built in 1950 using recycled material and has always been a pub. Very attractive from the outside but inside it's quite cavernous - it's L shaped with a long main dining area and equally long bar and then a lower area to the right as you come in with seating and the toilets. There's large fire place but I for me the interior was so spacious sparse that it was the opposite of the snug pub you expect from the exterior. 6 casks, but only three beers were on so settled for their rebadged St Austell beer as I'd had the West Berks and Surrey Hills beers before. Then around 10 macro kegs but two of each of these beers. The food was OK. Nothing special. Have had better at other B&P pubs. When we went in the maître d' straight away warned us that children must be well behaved and I noticed that a lot of the clientele looked elderly so the hushed atmosphere was perhaps not a surprise. Not a (gastro) pub I intend to return to.“

Milford Wine Centre (Beer Store)
41 CHURCH ROAD,
“Small wine shop. The stairs outside are a right hassle if you have a pram. This place now has a new owner, who tried to help but he was not particularly great at the whole customer service thing. They were only stocking Hogs Back beers.“

HURST FARM, CHAPEL LANE,
“18/08/18 update: spotted that they'd relaunched their beer as a craft collection. Still 60% + real ale but some more crafty stuff. Only two local breweries in stock (HB and Crafty) despite a refernce to them stocking local breweries. Then over half of the beers were from different Gloucestershire breweries, it's almost their speciality. A bit odd really. Cotswold, Gloucester and Lost and Found amongst others. Then some randoms from the likes of Atom, Black Sheep and And Union. 100 or so beers in total. // Been here numerous times. In fact I got the cheese for my wedding here. However, I believe today was the first time I’ve bought any beer. Local breweries Little Beer Co, Crafty and zzzzz Hogsback. Some random breweries from the West Country and some real mainstream picks such as Hobgoblin. The cafe is good, they farmshop itself has a good array of food, but not a place to come to for beer particularly.“

Milford Wine Centre (Beer Store)

“Mainly a wine store, but also has a changing range of bottled beers. Mainly Hogs Back and Fullers but usually has some bottles from unusual breweries. One of those places if you are passing you need to pop in for any thing New. “
