“Modern brewpub near the town square. Was quit empty on Monday afternoon. 2 beers on tap, blonde was bit messy, but red was ok. No samples. Had flammkuchen here... I've had better.“

“Sehr schönes Hipster Brauhaus in altem Gemäuer. Erinnert an das alte Stone in Marienfelde in Klein 😢 😁9 eigene Taps + Flaschen+ Craft Cider und Craft coffee😄. Richt leckeres Essen. Das Wiener Schnitzel war das beste ausserhalb von Wien!! Es gibt Flights und wenn man nett fragt darf man sich die Biere auch aussuchen. Absoluter Pflichtbesuch im Norden!“

“Generally the place is for eating, we did however find a booth with 10 taps and beers served in various sizes. Table next to the booth. Surroundings relatively noisy and not especially cosy. Live music, 1 singer playing guitart, sound kept at moderate level. Prices for the beers OK, a bit slow and uninterested male servant. Had mexican food from another booth, cheap and excellent.“

“Visited on 29th December 2021. Centrally located bar, 3 taps, no bottled beers. Huge room with small and large tables, chairs and benches. Low pop music. Candles in coloured sticks (LED) with changing colours. Large copper lamps on top of the tables. Fair prices for beers and food.“

“Visited on 19th October 2021 with Margie. This is an old market hall that has been given a new lease of life, with food stalls and a Bremer Braumanufaktur Bar (six taps of their beers and a few random bottles). Each food stall also sells bottled beers. I love these sort of places, the food choices here are lovely, we had Curries, but Noodles, Italian, Spanish, German and Ukrainian offerings were also available, plus healthy options. It's informal and fun, sit where you like, eat and drink what you want.“

“Visited midday on 18th October 2021, completed a RateBeer mission to review a place in all 16 German regions by drinking in Bremen. This is a modern, airy brewpub with plenty of space and a couple of special rooms for parties of when really busy. Just the two regular beers on tap with a seasonal addition, an IPA on our visit. Thought it would be more traditional but it only opened in 1990. Like the place, even if it isn't what I expected. Beers were fine.“

“Big place in a nice old building, several seating area including some outside seating towards the bar, and in a nice garden. 14 tap's with a few empty, all others oude beers. Quality soso, might be low turnover due to Corona and the ekstreme heat the last week or 2. Fine service , english spoken. We just had a small snack with our beer, but food looked good - The burger was popular. Flight available at a fair price. Deutschland is gelb!!“

“If you're a craft beer fan then this establishment is a must visit in Bremen. Not far from Bus and Tram stops. The site is huge with a number of bars/beer halls and it gets buzzing I recommend you ask for a three or five beer taster tray so you can find what you prefer. Friendly bar staff and they even supply an English menu so no probs if your knowledge of German is limited! There's also a gift shop at the back of the main building in the courtyard...selection of all Union beers and other bits. Also a local distiller sells all kinds of spirits and liqueurs so there really is something for everyone's taste. At the time of writing the shop is open between 4pm and 7pm so don't leave it too late to buy those gifts!“

“Located near the city centre / town hall, it apparently has two entries, one in a small alley which then leads you through something that looks like a couple of dungeons, the other entry is from a small touristic street / alley where apparently a lot of city tours with guides come through. Interior is typically German brewpub: rough thick wooden tables, simple chairs. Two beers available, unsurprisingly nothing less than 0.4 liters. Normally dunkel und helles, this time no dunkel but a special: Schuttinger Red. Had the beers and a little bit of simple pub food and bought the dunkel for takeaway. Worth a visit when around.“

“German grocery Store at Bremen Ochtum Parl. Large selection of German (Makro) breweries. Lots of Bavarian beer as well. Craft beer selectioin is more mainstream: Rügener Inselbrauerei, Braufactum, but some smaller or from abroad like Steamworks, BRLO. Staff is not well informed, not very friendly (because of the lack of knowledge).“

“Visited on a late friday afternoon. Perfectly located at the gorgeous Böttcherstrasse, which is worth seeing by itself. Dark and authentically old looking interior, quite a treat. They only make two beers, but the Helles is a pretty good Kellerbier, of which I had two mugs. Service is fast and the food is typical of a German Brauhaus, which suits me fine. Decent prices, I enjoyed this place. “

“We visited the brewery on the opening weekend Dec 19/20 2015. At that time, six beers brewed at the brewery were available on tap and in bottles. In addition, craft beers from a couple of German craft breweries were available on tap and bottled. The newly re-established brewery is located in the traditional brewery building of the former Bremer Union Brauerei (1907-1968). The interior is a nice mixture of modern and rustique elements, dominated by rough wooden furniture, doors etc. The waiters are friendly and service minded, yet not very "well educated" when it comes to the detailed knowledge of the beers offered. The brewery (brew kettles, fermentation/lagering barrels) are visible from some of the guest rooms. Bottles with the brewery’s beers are sold in different sizes, as well as bottles from other German craft breweries. Simple and good dishes that fit well to beer are prepared at the local kitchen. Overall, a nice place worth to visit.“

“Visited on December 10th 2015. A minute or so from Domscheide tram stop and tucked away the entrance is down a little grubby alley. Inside is a lovely trad venue. Wooden benches and stools around barrels. 2 beers on, hell and dunkel. Both decent. Service quick. Prices not too bad. Smallest pour is 0.4l . Nice place“

“Dark and old fashioned brewpub in a narrow little street along the city center of Bremen, Easy reachable by foot / no parkings. The beers were okay, the service fast and friendly, the atmosphere noisy and loud. Were there before a Bundesliga match and it was crowded with football fans. French fires were very tasty (for our child), we did not order any food. Prices are okay, but 0,4l of water for 3,60€ (the same price like for the same amount of beer) is not correct and normally against the law of the DEHOGA. Beers were available in 0,5l to take away.“

“Visited 01/12/2014. Multi-storied darkwood beercave tucked away in thick old hanseatic dungeon walls in the city centre. Brisk & cheerful service happy to go and ask about the kind of local Bremen hops cultivated for their new pale ale (Amarillo) and retrieve some takeaway bottles. Enjoyable basic German brewery grub with a local offal sausage classic Knipp and fair enough prices. Packed with both locals, groups and tourists on a MON evening.“

“This place has a cozy beer cellar and is located in the very center of Bremen. There are two house beers, which are both okay, but they have no seasonals. The beers were very cheap at my visit as I had come across their happy hour which is every day 17.00 - 20.00, where 20 cl costs you a flat euro. The food looked god, but we didn’t eat. The service was okay, but nothing more.“

“Visited in January 2011 for a quick spot of food and a couple of beers on the way to the airport. City centre location 2 or 3 minutes walk from public transport. Multi level bar, typical new age brauhaus format, we were in the smaller darker keller style area. 2 beers avaialble, Helles and Dunkels. Both reasonable efforts, but nothing to write home about - if a stop off here is convenient make it, if not don’t go out of your way! Food was good, I had the ’knippe’ a local delicacy which is simialr to haggis in some respects. The jumbo curry wurst was huge ! Atmosphere was ok - Sunday lunchtime so not that busy, I imagine it would be different of an evening! “

“This is my favorite place in Bremen (and I live here). Unfortunately this was a fire in an adjacent parking facility so they are closed for a few months, but they reopen July 12, 2012. The beer is a downright bargain in my opinion. Quite an easy drink, not too hoppy or anything. They only have two beers on tap... dark and light. Both are good. During their happy hour, which is quite long (5-8pm) during which, beers are 1 euro per 0.2 L. The food here also very good for pub fare in my opinion. Pretty much everything is around 10 euros for massive portions. You can also get stuff for around 5 or 6 euros like sandwiches and currywurst I think, but everything is a big portion. By the way, I do not work there, but really just enjoy the place.“

Specialty: you can order a 10 l beer barrel for tapping beer yourself at the table. Prices (as of 2011/12/28): 0.2 l €1.70, 0.4 l €3.40, 1.0 l €7.50, 1.5 l €10.90, 10 l €66.50“

“The Leierkasten (German for "street organ") is a beer garden and pub located in an allotment site. It cannot directly be reached by car; you would have to walk or bicycle. There is, however, a buss stop nearby. The beer garden itself looks like you would expect a traditional beer garden -- big chestnut trees create a dense canopy of leaves protecting you and your beer from the summer sun and heat. Longish wooden benches and tables are used for the furniture. On warmer days when the beer garden is crowded, beverages can be bought in a shed outside; otherwise you will have to order inside the pub. The pub is dominated by a bar in the centre with a couple of tables placed around (with seating-accomodation for approx. 40 people). The standard beer is Einbecker Brauherren Pils (on tap). It is served in 0.4, 0.5, or 1.0 l glasses (1.0 l glasses are those you might know from Bavarian beer festivals like the Oktoberfest). Besides that, the beer selection is somewhat changing. Last time I was there (July 2011), they only servered Engel Kellerbier Hell on tap (in addition to Einbecker). They usually have Guinness and (during March/April) Einbecker Mai-Ur-Bock on tap. They have a couple of bottled beers, like Hefeweizen (don’t remember which brand), Beck’s and the (very) local Hemelinger Spezial. The owner of the Leierkasten is beer drinker himself, so he takes good care of the tapping system and he’s interested in serving good beers to his guests. You can order simple dishes which fit well to beer; the dishes are reasonably priced, quite tasty and are prepared freshly.“

“Very centraly located in Bremen, which makes nearby parking difficult and a bit pricy. Weird place - from the very start - the front is nothing like a brewpub - more like a club entrance - and down you go to a weird place - cave like and dark with alcoves with tables of warrying quality and lengths. Looks more like a place to get drunk than a place to enjoy quality beers, but their two house beers are not bad - it is afterall Germany.“

“18.01.2010. This brewpub is situated in the heart of the old town in Bremen, and is therefor very easy to visit when you are in Bremen. The pub is a classical old style german bar with everything is wooden. The selection of beers is only 2, the Hell and the Dunkel. Maybe they should have a little broader selection? The guy behind the bar was very helpfull and I even got to bay a glass for my collection. In the bar there is a little selection of beer stuff from the brewery you can buy.“
