“Correct address is 900 River Bluff, Madison TN, they moved out of the gulch in 2019. First time visit and tasted 14 beers on draft ranging from good to excellent across a wide variety of styles. Easily best brewer in music city, these guys know what they are doing. Must stop for beer drinkers in town. Few snack available, tap room is nice,“

“We came here on 20.8.2018. One of the oldest brewpubs in the city. Spacious restaurant area, a few stools at the bar, a mediocre view to the brewhouse and some beer tables outside. +15 beers on tap - tried the Pilsner, Amber and Pale Ale. Beers were average at the best. Honestly we were a bit disappointed.“

“Large taproom with not very memorable decoration. Friendly young staff. Flight trays of 6 tasters available. The beers were fairly bland, with a couple of malty pale ales, but I loved the two Sours they had on tap. Bottles available for takeaway. We enjoyed our little visit to Yazoo.“

“Visited on a Tuesday evening. Big production brewery and taproom with plenty of seating in the inside room or on a spacious patio. Beer selection is 14 house beers available as full or 5 oz pours. Beers to go and merchandise available. Good crowd, and good vibe.

76 = *** (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Parking can be a bit of challenge in the gulch. Yazoo does have a parking lot, but other than that it is limited street parking or the pay lot up the street. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Eager to talk beer and recommend things. It was a little hectic because the anniversary event was going on but they did a great job. Seems like they are up to 16 taps now...all of there house beers, plus whatever seasonals and sours are around. Prices are fair. They offer 5 oz pours as well on everything on tap. They also have some bottles available for onsite consumption as well as a to-go bottle shop. Overall cool place and staple of the city.“

“Small dedicated parking lot, expect to have to get your car aligned after this. This place has a outside beer garden. I sat at the large L-shaped bar, but there are several tables available. Service was above average. They have a sampler flight but it is a lot of samples (I would guess around six), you can get pints, and individual 5oz. samples. Their deux rouges was quite nice along with a few others I have had in the past. They have some cold bottles for take away, near the bar. My most recommended brewpub for Nashville.“

“A couple of minutes walk away from Jackolope Brewery, there were plenty of people waiting for their 3pm opening time on the Thursday of my visit. I actually approached from a back street and ending up going through an open side door into the brewery operation itself, which was fairly large and industrious. The tap room itself is a small affair in comparison to the building, taking up the front corner, but has ample simple seating. Their own selection is extensive enough. The flights may have been discontinued as small pours were only available.“

“Part of the walking tour of breweries you can hit in Nashville, and it’s the biggest and oldest of the bunch. Being old, the taproom could use a nice upgrade at this point, but its a good place to drink beer nonetheless. The beers were all fairly solid, with styles ranging the full spectrum from sours to lagers, IPAs to porters. Service was very good: quick, knowledgeable, and friendly. Worth a quick stop on your way to all the others.“

“Cool place - probably the coolest for vibe in tis brewery strip of Nashville. Big place with lots of beer on tap when I was in. Beers are mostly above average. Friendly staff and decent prices. Must visit, and this place has many more options than the airport stall.“

“Nice place. Strong selection. Don’t expect guest taps. Don’t expect food. The food truck was nice though. Staff was friendly and knew thier products. Tours are offered. Serving area is open and light with elbow room and a noise level that let’s you talk. Music selection was 80s 90s mix. Enjoyed this place.“

“First brewery in Tennessee, so that’s neat. Kind of the big boy of the scene, I guess. Nice sized location and we happened to be visiting on their 12th Anniversary, so special pricing on all the beers during the visit meant that a number of samples and full pours came out to to less than $10. Amazing, though normally not quite so cheap, still not expensive.

They do offer a flight, but it’s predetermined. However, you can just order taster sized pours of everything, so no need to really worry about it too much. They had a number of Embrace the Funk offerings on tap and in bottles as well as their normal lineup and a few seasonal drafts. Nice selection and, generally, good quality. I really liked their hefeweizen quite a bit. Other beers were mostly good, but not great.

Service is pretty good, though they got busy quite fast, even though we arrived right as they opened.

The circumstances of my visit probably inflated my view a bit, but I really enjoyed my trip here.“

“Been trying to come here for years, and it finally happened. Extremely average everything about this place. The facility, the beer, the atmosphere, and none of it stood out. The flight was cool using the small snifters in a giant wooden Y tray, but the beers in the flight were so-so at best. All in all very disappointing, and there are at least five better options within walking distance. Funny that all of the last ten reviews were in the 70s...“

“Warehouse with incredibly crappy parking situation (had flashbacks of trying to find parking near Cantillon with streets just as narrow). Luckily I was alone and got a seat at the bar without a wait - was very busy on a Saturday. Only flight available was their year-round beers but as Travlr said, can get small pours of any beer. Bottle sales as well - had single bombers of Sue but only sold cases of their other beers. Definitely a great stop once you find parking.“

“Medium sized tasting room next to what appeared to be a fairly large brewery. They pick the beers in a tasting flight, but you can order 3-4 ounce pours of any of them, one at a time. Tours are available, bottle sales as well. Three different seasonals on when I visited.“

“This is a classic brewery taproom, featuring all of the Yazoo regulars, seasonals, and even something special now and then. The bartenders are always super friendly, and although they don’t really serve food, they almost always have a good food truck outside and food can be brought inside. Prices are very fair.“

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon, was pretty crowded, but plenty of room to find a spot to enjoy a few of their beers. There was no food, except for a pretzel stand on the premises. We tried the sampler and then a couple of other beers that were not on the sampler. All were decent, nothing exceptional. . Decent location, near a couple of other breweries and a bottle shop. We would go again, maybe take the tour next time.“

“Rolled into town after 11hrs of driving and headed straight to Yazoo for some beers. Not sure why they are open later on weekdays than weekends, not very convenient. Walking in it was much bigger than I was expecting it to be. People all over the large seating area in the middle and milling around the swag shop off to the side. Service was quite good, he told me a bit about the beers I chose and was very nice. Selection and quality were both solid. A nice verity of beers on including a funky sour which was quite nice. Also tried the amber on cask dry hopped with saaz which was quite interesting. Prices were reasonable so no problems there. They had a food truck outside but we were heading to dinner afterwards so I didn’t partake. Overall a really nice brewpub that I would love to visit again.“

“10/24/13 - In Nashville on business and wanted to check out a few local breweries. Parking lot is small and was full, so I parked in the alley behind the brewery, which was small and tricky manuvering to park. Place was a typical tap room. No special ambiance, rather kind of industrial and unfinished looking. Nice large bar though that wraps around and several tables. The place was pretty crowded for a Thursday night, which is always good to see for small breweries. They had several of their beers on tap and do 2oz samples for $2, which is what I opted for. Ended up getting into a conversation with another customer about homebrewing and lost track of which beers I sampled. I tried 8 samples of different beers and all of them were between better than average to outstanding. I stood at the bar and the service was very good. Bar staff, (2 women and 1 guy), were all very friendly and knowledgable about their beers. Definitely recommended and I would love to see them start distributing a little more north, (as in Louisville, KY).“

“Brought some friends in from out of state to try some local craft beer. There was a mixup with the tickets for the tour, and we weren’t refunded. The woman there was very rude and made it very clear to us that the tour was about "making money". We left and will never be back. Yazoo’s success has obviously gone to their heads. There are far better breweries in Nashville. Avoid this place and avoid their mediocre beer.“

“Nice brewery and drinking area near the downtown Nashville area. You can tell a good brewery when you smell the yeast out in the parking lot. Beers are very reasonablly priced and service was very quick and friendly. A dozen or so taps of yazoo beer. Hop Project and their over(?) stout was very good, better here at the brewery than other taps I had in Memphis due to its freshness. Will come back every time I am in Nashville.“

“Cool place to go and drink a solid beer. That’s about it! No Tv’s, no food, just great beer! I ordered an Onward Stout Nitro pour and got a Co2 pour. That was weird I made him change the beer. Things like that should never happen at a brewery. Good variety of beers“

“this was my first visit, but I should have come here much sooner. Took a tour, which was pretty good. (*on a side note, if you want to tour, I HIGHLY suggest reserving tickets the monday before you want to go as they sell out fast. They do allow walk ups, but they sell out fast as well) As a home brewer I am very familiar with the beer making process, I am just interested in seeing individual places and how they make THEIR crafts. I’m not sure how crowded it normally gets, but I was there on labor day weekend saturday, and it looked pretty crowded to me, although this made no difference because the bar staff was very helpful and attentive. We never had to wait for service which was a big plus. Overall this was a great place, and it’s good to see they are growing. Maybe one day I will see Yazoo in Philly beer stores.“

“Very cozy tasting room with ample seating and good view of the brewery. Nice place to grab a Yazoo special offering and chill for a few minutes. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, even when the place was quite busy (since all their business is concentrated into pretty tight hours). Pleasant experience.“

“Brewery is located in a warehouse/business district near downtown Nashville. Large tasting room with outside seating. Basic beer selection that does not include their high gravity beers (such as Sue) due to arcane TN liquor laws. Good place to drop by and sample beers. No food. Service was good and samples are available for free if you ask. Brewery tours available.“

“New location. Parking was a real problem. Spacious if somewhat barebones tasting room, plus outside patio. It was infuriating that, despite being first in line/belly up to the bar, it took literally 15 minutes to be aknowledged, and there were at least 20 more people behind us. To be fair it was pretty busy, but there were 4 bartenders "bustling", but who only managed to fill a couple of samplers and 3 or 4 growlers in that time. Don’t bother with the "tour", it was by far the worst I’ve ever been on.. although bubbly, our tour guide was utterly clueless and a fountain of misinformation; every aspect of the brewing process and most of the terminology she used was absurd . But overall I imagine it would be pleasant on a less busy day.“

“I visited the newly opened location. The brewery is in a cool warehouse location with a very large tasting room and a patio.Parking was not an issue at all when I went even though there was a decent sized crowd here. There were 6 taps on but sadly no Sue which Yazoo should legally be able to sell now that they are recognized as a distillery. I hear she’s on the way soon. The ambiance is warm with lots of brick and art. Yazoo is one of the better breweries in the state and it’s cool to go check out the facility. I’ll probably be back.“

“Located in an old motor vehicle factory in midtown west - the place has tons of character/ambiance/vibe. Outdoor patio/rock garden allows consumers to have a cigarette, enjoy the night air and bask in all that is Yazoo. They sell flights of their entire beer lineup. Always have something limited/exclusive on tap: Hop Project & Tribute brews. They offer tours of the brewery - walk through the brew warehouse and taste growler of fresh beer out the tank and you get to keep your Yazoo glassware. They sell beer merch, growlers, growler chillers, signs, shirts, etc. Friendly and attentive staff - great attitude and vibe. You can enjoy a cheese and nut plate while you imbibe in their craft. This place has quite a following of local growler customers in the local community - can get crowded but great service.“

“I wasn’t here very long and didn’t have time for a tour, but I will be back. They had lots of their beers on tap, many which are only bottle very sparingly. Growler fills are cheap ($8) and the set up is very beerhall like. Of course the place smelled great and a had a very fun atmosphere.“

“I really had a nice time visiting the Yazoo Tap Room (This may have been the old one, say six months ago). We went on a Saturday and tried to do the tour, but we were only going to be able to get on the last one, so we took a seat at the bar. Started off with a flight of beers. I would say the winter seasonal WASSAIL was the star (I ended up taking a growler back to Birmingham with me). Really nice staff and good beer. I hope to bet back to the new location for a tour and some more brews.“

“I visited the Yazoo brewery and taproom, located at one end of the old Marathon Motorworks building just outside downtown Nashville, on a busy Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend. Yazoo gives 5 tours on Saturdays each hour starting at 2:30. We got in right around 2:20 and the first tour was full so we sat at the bar and waited for the 3:30 tour. The taproom is pretty small, with an adjacent room that has some extra seating. My advice is to go early to get the tour you want and a spot to sit if you have to wait. While we waited, I ordered a sampler and she got a pint of the hefeweizen. The beers were very good overall. I was disappointed that they didn’t currently have a hop project on, but Brandon’s Hop Blaster was available in addition to the staples. The summer ale hadn’t yet been replaced with the fall fest, even though the website was updated too soon and said otherwise. We also ordered one of the three cheese/fruit/bread plates, which was a nice snack to go with the drinks. The tour guide was quirky, fun, and engaging, and made sure we got a few different samples throughout the tour. The 45 minute tour was basically just the main brewing room, with a few stops and long descriptions along the way. They told us Yazoo was moving into a new facility along the Gulch/Music Row area in early 2010 and that the new place would increase capacity by at least four times, and potentially also feature a full food menu. Yazoo is Nashville’s only brewer and a must-visit for any beer drinkers in town. UPDATE: Visited again, 4/10/10. The new place is nice but lacks the character of the old one. Cool to see them increase capacity by so much. Tours were not yet available so hopefully those get going soon. Got there right as it opened at 2:00, which was smart because the place filled up very fast. Even with the increased space, every table and the entire patio was filled. The parking area is small and unpaved, and the lot was overflowing by the time we left. It seems like they didn’t expand enough based on the crowd we saw. Best feature of the new place is that there are 18 tap handles for the 6 beers on tap, 12 for filling pints and 6 for growlers. Once again, a must-visit for beer drinkers visiting Nashville.“

“Got here early and good thing too, was packed before the doors opened, everyone looking to get their growler fills and pints in before the 2:30 tour which filled up by 2:01 a minute after the door opened. We didn’t stick around for the tour but got the nifty beer sampler served on a cool carrying board with pretty large sample pours. Good counter service considering the layout, it was about as big as my bathroom. They had a cheeseboard and something else for munchies that we didn’t try but their beer is a must, probably the best stop for Nashville brew. With my sampler purchase I got a new growler bottle and fill for just six bucks.“

“I like to visit the tap room to taste the Yazoo "project" beers. These are beers apart from the typical production beers Yazoo offers. The taproom is small, the hours are short, and the prices on pints and growlers aren’t especially good, but the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. I like to take people visiting from out of town to show them a taste of Nashville brewing. I can’t recommend it as an every day hang out.“

“A nice trip to the wrong side of the tracks will lead you to this hidden gem. I really liked the ambiance of the place. A little small and very crowded for my taste though. I got a 6 beer sampler, not horribly expensive, only 8 bucks, but the samples were a good 3 or 4 ounces. Most of the beers I had were perfectly drinkable, average brewpub beers. But they sure do have a standout with their hop project series. The #9 was a fantastic surprise. The bartenders were curteous and knowledgeable and didnt mind just letting me sit at the bar rating the beers without interupting me. I just wish they were open on weekdays. I would really like to visit more often when it just is not so crowded.“
