“This is it on May 24th 2022. I always like to check out the local co-op markets whenever I travel. Not only do they offer up usually a great selection of local singles, but you can also get snacky foods for the car. This was no exception, lots of greens and nuts and healthy food, plus I'm really nice selection of local craft beer. Great place to stock up on both.“

“Large brewpub vibe with view over the river. Beers were fine, good variety of styles. Food was pretty standard pub fare. Fine.“

“Brewpub right on the Connecticut River between VT and NH. It actually is over the river, kinda cool, nice view. They have a pretty large selection of regular beers (maybe 8-10) and about 6 tap house specials. Chai stout and NEIPA were great! They have food (typical brewpub fare) which I didn’t try. Definitely a nice place to grab a beer, and try to get a seat by the window (or outside!)“

“Big place right on the river with a nice view of wooded New Hampshire. Seat yourself policy made the front bar a bit chaotic, but staff handled things well. Large rooftop bar was usually full but there were shaded tables on ground level that had an occasional opening. About a dozen beers on offer, about half of which were stouts, porters and other dark styles - in August. Beers were fine, just no especially exciting. Flights of five available. Food was standard old skool pub grub - burgers, wings, etc. Good service especially given the crowds. Interesting stop.“

“Big place located right on the river, by the bridge. Rooftop patio for great views. Pub style menu. Busy for a Monday afternoon. Generic tap list, beer is just meh. One and done. Good service.“

“Beautiful location, on the riverfront, on the border. Parking is an issue. Busy in the evening. Bar seating available. Looks like they have two levels of seating and potentially an upstairs patio as well. Beautiful building. Maybe 20 taps and 100 bottles. 5 of theirs on tap, rest guest. 4 oz pours priced individually. Slow service. Decent beer quality. Pre filled crowlers to go. Did not try food.“

“Stopped in for lunch, sat with a view of the river. Both upstairs and bar area have nice views. Food was good, and their beer selection was decent as well. Plus they had a few guest taps, so we had a flight of theirs and a couple of guest beers. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and offered several samples. Worth the stop.“

“Though one of those "hippie/crunchy granola" types of places, well, we have that sort of thing here in VT, this is a decent place when in Brattleboro to check out. Prices are the same throughout Brattleboro. Pretty clean little store.“

“Pretty good taps for a bowling alley. Clean, little serviceable place with good prices to me - in this day and age, yeah, it went up since the last time the other reviewer said, but hey, it’s 2017 now, so I get it. Easy place to take kids and relax if you’re into bowling. They’re leaning towards more Vermont beers now with Heady and S.O.S. there too.“

“Might be mainly a wine place, still, this isn’t a bad place to look for some beers while in Brattleboro. Service is good, I will say that at least they ask you, but at the same time, there’s not a whole lot of beer knowledge to be honest.“

The Marina (Restaurant)

“Along the Connecticut River, this exceptionally clean little restaurant keeps some pretty good taps. One might be surprised what you can find in here and as some of the Northern Vermont brewers are venturing out in their distro a bit, surprisingly enough, yes, sometimes, they get some Lawson’s and HF here. I don’t always give a 5 for ambiance but if any place really deserves it, it would be this place.“

“We arrived there by 4pm yesterday(Saturday) after rain just stopped so the outside seating was not in use. We were going to get a bad table down low. We said we would wait for a better seat with a view. We had 2 flight size glasses at the bar while waiting. We got our table and I got a full flight of 5. Each glass had it own price from $1.80 to $2.93. The guest beers turned out to be better than some of the House beers. The outside tables were just starting to be used as we left. It’s a nice big clean place.“

“We stopped past Whetstone Station on a Friday afternoon on our way up to Canaan, NH. Given the lovely weather we sat upstairs in the "Bier Garten" which has a nice view overlooking the river. They offer a good selection of house beers, US regional craft (Stone etc) and other local options (such as Hill Farmstead on our visit). We went for a flight of house beers. In general I found their own beers a bit underwhelming. The best was probably the maple bacon porter. Got served promptly and prices seemed pretty standard for this part of the world. Overall it’s a great location and venue with a decent beer selection (particularly guest beers), but perhaps the house beers could be a bit better. A good place to visit nonetheless!“

“Came here on a Thursday at around 4:30 pm. Not crowded. Once you are able to get notice and be assigned a server, service is was good. Beer selection is good and they seem to rotate quickly. They only had 4 of their own beer offered. Food is good.“

“This nice looking quaint "happening" restaurant/brewpub located along the Vermont/New Hampshire border had some decent service. I won’t knock it too much since I only saw two waiters on a Friday night (more so a hit on the manager), it might not be prime time for Summer season, but a Friday? Hmmm...I had an HF Edward but they served it in a tulip (improper glassware), hmmm...okay. Next beer was their APA which was in proper glassware. The selection varied from a ton of Vermont brewers and cider makers to a fair amount of international brews. I had a French dip sandwich which was good. The value seemed fairly reasonable for the Southeast Vermont area. Overall, not a bad place, service could have been better. Correct glassware for all beers of the same style could also have helped better my experience of this place.“

“Établissement visité le mardi 24 mars à 11h30. Ambiance: Bar donnant sur la rivière. Foyer central. Terrasse sur le côté et le toit. La terrasse du côté est directement au dessus de la rivière et est situé dans le NH. Service: Sympathique et présentation des bières et du menu du jour. Sélection: Bière maisons et bières du Vermont en fût. Nourriture: Nous avons pris chacun un plat du jour et c’était bon. (257e rating d’établissement).“

“This is a nice place with some fireplaces and post-industrial looking furnishings. The staff is wicked nice and made accommodations to a party of 12 with two babies on no notice (on New Year’s). The beer list is pretty nice looking and includes some crazy stuff from Cantillon and Drei Fontein. Of course, it includes its own fun stuff that they brew there. The beers I had from them were pretty good, though I, of course, enjoyed some better than others. The food is a little on the pricey side, but overall, I found it to be pretty good. Some of the beers were similarly pricey, but I think that this kind of thing happens everywhere now (damn inflation). Definitely worth a visit for the on-site beer and pleasant atmosphere.“

“A pretty solid spot, easy to find in central Brattleboro. This place is a restaurant and brewpub but they also have a nice bar so you can just pop in to have some beer. The house beers are actually quite good, and the American pale ale available on my visit was outstanding. On top of the house offerings they have a small but impressive selection of Vermont breweries (Hill Farmstead and Fiddlehead were highlights on my visit) in addition to some fairly obscure offerings from other US craft brewers. Additionally, they also had a very nifty selection of bottles. The prices were very fair and they offered flights. Service was efficient and friendly. I didn’t eat on my visit but would love to come back again to have some food and try more of their beers. Absolutely worth pulling off of I-91 to check out this place.“

“Whole Foods/Trader Joes - esque grocery store, with a great selection of local singles, including cider. Average prices for the area, it seemed. Located right in the "downtown" area, and very accessible if you’re doing the town bar crawl. Worth a stop in if you’re in the area and looking to take a few local bottles home.“

“Nice little spot over looking the Connecticut River. The place has a lot of brick & metal with no sound deadening, so it’s quite noisy. In good weather the outside deck is nice and has a great view of the river. Waitstaff is attentive, pretty much the same as anywhere. Food is good. Beer selection is good. I do have to add, I’ve been here twice now and still haven’t had any of their house brewed beer. They are always out. They need to ramp up production. It irked me that I went there to try their beer & they didn’t have any.“

“Really cool spot on the river with an awesome roof-top open-air "beer garden." One house brewed draft and a decent selection of local and regional offerings. When I visited, the house beer had just kicked and wasn’t being replaced until the next day, which was a bit of a bummer. Prices are a touch on the high side for the area, it seems. Not a bad place, but if you only have one house beer on at a time, it would be nice to have the next one in line ready to go when the previous one kicks.“

“The comparison to a local Whole Foods is spot on. Its certainly one of the nicest food co-ops I’ve ever visited and thankfully there’s plenty of parking next door. They have about 150 kinds of mainly local and some national craft. They also have some nice prizes lurking. On the day I visited I found a Founder’s doom that I wasnt expecting. But apparently a lot has changed since 2006. They have very little BMC and a strong focus on local product. It’s not a destination place but it’s a pretty solid local.“

“14 taps two were european. There wasn’t anything crazy special at all but a solid selection. very nice interior with a deck overlooking the Connecticut river…stunning really. They appear to be working diligently on the brewpub as well. A neat place to add to the rounds when in Brattleboro. Food - I just had a bowl of chili but it was good though would be nice if they offered - cheese, sour cream and onions as extras. I am hoping to try more of the menu the next time I’m in town plus beers once they are up and brewing.“

“Of the handful of shops that I checked out in the Brattleboro, this was probably the best. It was nice to be able to grab singles of anything. They had very fair prices and a good assortment of regional, local, and national microbreweries, with a good suite of specialty beers. Don’t expect anything rare, but if you’re camping or hiking and want something decent, this is the place to stop. Plus the food here is fantastic.“

“I was really happy to see this place with 10 or so bottles of the Dogfish Pearl Jam brew chilling on the shelf. I hit the jackpot for the local beers here, so I couldn’t be happier. Big store for food. Great selection of local beers.“

“A nice little food store stowed away in Brattleboro. The staff is extremely nice and helpful and the place has tons of local products. Their beer selection mainly focuses around VT products, especially Brattleboro’s own McNeill’s. Other VT beers like Otter Creek, Magic Hat and Rock Art are always available along with other US microbrews like rare Dogfish and Rogues. Reasonable prices.“

“This place has renovated since my last visit, for the better. Similar to Whole Foods, with good cheese, wine and beer selection. A lot of the McNeills, and other Vermont offerings, with good classics, such as Stone, Kasteel, Harpoon, etc...good prices.“

“As others have mentioned, basically a food co-op in an artsy, hippie town. Very impressed with the beer selection. Local brews of course. McNeill’s, Trout River, but also a good selection of other craft brews. Prices, I thought were quite reasonable. One of the things I liked about Brattleboro, is everything is within walking distance. I hit McNeill’s, Flat Street and this place, all within an hour or so.“

“Pretty solid selection for what is basically a health-conscious, alternative supermarket in a small town. I’d say there are about 150 different beers, with some good representatives from abroad. But mainly the standouts are Vermont beers, like McNeill’s and Trout River.“

“A small selection of beer, though all of the recent 4 offerings of McNeill, Be sure to buy additional choices at the pub itself (and take the car). Good selection of food accompaniments for beer. Almost everything in the cooler. Almost all, local selection. Closed at 9 pm.“

“Stopped here before heading out of town and grabbed a few bottles to bring back with me. Good selection of McNeill’s - same price per bottle as the brewpub itself. Got a 750mL of Rodenbach Grand Cru for $8.50, which I thought a good deal. Had some Berkshire and just a few other New England beers. Not a huge selection, though.“

“Great little grocery store. Pretty big for a co-op. Great food, service, and people. As far as beer, it’s not the best selection. Mostly local stuff, like McNeills and Trout River (which was awful). But worth checking out anyway if you like organic, vegetarian foods and the like.“

“Not sure why this place is even listed. Minus McNeills offerings which you could get fresh up the street, this place just offered your typical macro crap and there are at least 2 other places in the area with a much better selection. A complete waste of time.“

“I didn’t really look at much here except the beer. Selection was fairly small, but had several McNeill’s, including the Imperial Stout which was not available in bottles at the brewery. Also picked up some Berkshire and Trout River stuff. Right around the corner from McNeills, so you don’t really have to go out of your way.“

“I love these kinds of stores. Very community-oriented and way out in left field sometimes. We stopped here for lunch and ate quite well, especially by American standards. No Beer allowed in the dining section, we didn’t buy any because there wasn’t anything too amazing in the fridge, and the McNeill’s selection was the exact same as at the pub. Cheeze selection wasn’t as nice as at City Market in Burlington, but was quite respectable. Look out for the parking police, they seem to be a little anal, and looked at us funny as we walked in and out of the store.“

“Ehhh. You guys are generous! Apart from McNeills, the selection is not very interesting...I can think of at least 3 VT co-ops with better; and the cheese and bread selection leaves something to be desired IMHO. But, I’m very picky when it comes to grocery stores so take it with a grain of salt. You should visit if you have time before/after McNeills, if you care at all about good food and especially if McNeills’ bottled selection at the pub is low. On 2nd thought, maybe I’ll be generous too..“

“Great specialty food store with a very good Vermont cheese selection, and natural/organic foods. Beer selection is small, but still has a few McNeill’s, Allagash, Stone, and other Vermont micros. I would stop here in case McNeill’s doesn’t have the bottles you’re looking for. But I wouldn’t come here for beer really, more for the cheese and organic products.“

“Gone here a bunch for McNeills seasonals.Short walk from McNeills. It ’s a full blown grocery store, but all’s I ever ate here was a cookie(it was good). Not a huge selection, but they have the McNeills seasonals that everyone looks for. Few other vermont brewers too. Remember Trout River, Rock Art, Magic Hat, Harpoon/Catamont And Shipyard from Maine.“
