“A rather large, well-kept JDW established in 2008. Corner location with a half moon-like entrance. The island bar had six rotating cask ales, all of them from London breweries, and four of the usual classic ales on cask. Polite service, and a decent traditional breakfast for £4.99. (Visited with Finn, 03.10.2023).“

“Primarily a bottle store but also offers 6 rotating beers on keg. A good selection of foreign beers and UK craft at very fair prices. A tiny venue but always good for conversation with strangers from both friendly staff and regular customers. Very close to Acton Central on the overground and a block away from a dozen or so bus routes including the 207. The E3 is convenient for getting to/from Marko Paulo taproom The Owl & Pussycat.“

“Visited on 29th Jan 2019. Strange place. On your right on entering is a huge 'Big Tent' (inside the building) with trapeze wires and stuff hanging from the ceiling. Circus Shows, Quizzes and Theme Nights being the reason (plus disco's and bands). On your left is a sparse bar room with plenty of tables and chairs with fairground bits for ornaments. between the two rooms is a small flight of stairs which lead to the toilets and a huge beer garden that seems to reaching into next week! No cask ales on (pity), all hand-pulls being off. Laine Brew Co seemed to be the keg beers of choice with other 'new to me' keg lines to try.“

“Second pub on my Acton stroll, 29th Jan 2019. Single storey, corner pub on a busy junction. Glass walled (in a circle), with an oblong side room and an outside smoking/drinking terrace. Island bar in the centre. The Wetherspoon 'London Beer Festival' was on during my visit, but they only had two of the festival beers on. Not a problem, there were other new cask ales for me to rate (three actually), so five in all. Bright and airy, enough staff on for a very wet and blustery Jan evening. All in all a pleasant experience. Across the road was my third and final pub of the evening, The Aeronaut.“

“Visited April 2017. About 15 minuts walk from the station. Traditionel JDW pub. Had a nice breakfast, to start the pubcrawl. A rather spacy and open area pub. Lots of big windows makes it very bright and welcoming. Huge bar in the middle of the pub, friendly staff. The pub seems nice and clean. Being there in the morning, I got the impressionthey haven´t clean their lines, since the beers were not served in best condition.“

“Visited in October 2016. Large pub, with a couple of rooms and large central bar. Offered a fairly decent range of beers at the usual, good value, prices offered by JDW. Service was fine, although it was disappointing to later see the manager fail to support his staff when they were being given grief by a couple of drunks, who thought they weren’t being served fast enough. A mixed bag.“

“Sorry to see on the news that this pub has been gutted by a fire. I visited once, in October 2016, and enjoyed a reasonably price session ale. I missed the circus acts, but was impressed by the size of the place, with two large rooms, and an enormous courtyard. A shame.“

“A bit loud and in-your-face, and with an acrobatic circus performance venue or some such, the Aeronaut is 1.5 steps away from the dreaded theme pub. This does not detract from it’s friendliness or cosiness. I like being here. They have mostly their own beer with a few guests. The house beer, well... they aren’t great. But my God they are cheap. Three thirds for £3. In London (well, Acton, but still). Come for the ticks, or stick to the guests, or just enjoy the atmosphere.“

“Related on 30th July 2016. Sat in the excellent beer garden. 4 of their own beers on cask plus a Laine’s beer and a couple of keg beers. Much better! 207 bus drops you off outside it from Brewdog Shepherds Bush. Visited on 20th May 2014 with Theydon Bois. Huge old building, high ceilings, wooden floors and an eclectic mix of furniture scattered about the place. There’s a separate performance area too, not the first time a couple of clowns have been in the place I’d wager! Beer range was a little poor with only a couple of their own beers on tap. Luckily I’d saved a Danish ration for TB to taste of the beer that kicked. Would go back and try it again, it’s just of a bit of a pain in the arse to get to and other Laines venues are much closer to home.“

“Not so long ago this was the only game in (Acton) town as far as a reasonable choice of beer goes but, with the two brewpubs very close at hand, that’s no longer the case. So I’ve not actually been in here in a while. It’s Spoons so you pretty much know what you’re going to get. However, unlike many, it had a long, and reasonably distinguished history as a pub (with the same name) before being taken over by Wetherspoon. It was a Fuller’s pub and used to have a quite sizeable tree actually growing through the pub. Interior decor is standard Spoons although some of the floor is actually tiled rather than carpeted. The curved frontage and clear glass windows give it a bit of a goldfish bowl feel. Four or five guests in addition to the Spoons staples provide a solid enough beer range. Not a destination in itself but worth a look if you’re in the vicinity for the brewpubs.“

“Visited in August 2015. A big barn of a place of Victorian origin I’d guess. Probably not the most beer-centric of the Laine brewpubs - although it’s days as an Aussie raging joint are (presumably) a thing of the past, I’d supect it’s still a bit of a party scene at the weekends. A bit difficult to judge though as we were there on a quiet afternoon and the place wasn’t very busy. Excellent garden out the back. The five Laine beers brewed on the premises we had were all fine, if unspectacular. Worth a visit.“

“A fun place, in keeping with its former incarnation as a pub popular with Antipodean revellers. There’s a wooden aeroplane frame inside and a dodgems room. We sat in the garden, which is really nice. Set around a courtyard with small trees are booths, each individually decorated in stripey circus tent colours - a very simple but effective idea - and there’s also an open lawn with a Tanqueray theme at the back. This is one of Laine’s eight pubs, three of which are brewpubs so the taps are dominated by Laine’s beers brewed on the premises. (Visited 2 August 2015).“

“Visited august 2015 with beery friends. Large brewpub with a huge beergarden filled with trees and small cabins. Very cosy, lots of funny decos, friendly staff and wifi. We had 5 of their own beers, served in ok condition as half pints. The food menu looks nice, didn´t eat this time.. Worth another visit, for sure..“

“Stopped here late one Saturday night just before closing in 2011. It was surprisingly quiet, but did manage to pick up one of the festival ales I was missing at the time. With a rotund frontage, the bar occupies the centre-ground of the immediate area in this pub. It has a traditional pub style with the ordinary early look that most Wetherspoon pubs from the 1990’s took the form of. Has an an outdoor area to the rear of one of its sides.“

“The Aeronaut is one of the newer brewpub outposts of the Laine group. It is located 10/15minutes walk north from Acton town tube The interior has the same sort of eccentric air to it as the others have with a bit of a circus theme going on as well. I did find it rather dark on my post-work visit. They had 6 of their beers on cask during my visit. I only sampled 2 dark beers (cho cho cho & porter) which were actually pretty good. As with the other Laine brewpubs I feel their pale beers to be below-average. Staff were friendly enough but not exactly knowledgeable about the beers. Makes for a good stop before heading over to the George & Dragon right nearby, but I wouldn’t go out my way otherwise.“

“Love the quirky interior, in particular the plane on the ceiling. The only thing that would draw me back would be to see one of their circus cabarets, as I too had a bad house beer experience. The first pour was undrinkable and chemical. I left it, but the mate who dragged me there forced it down his gullet, thus removing the "one of your beers is completely duff" message. Staff was very friendly, and knew what on paper she was selling, but presumable not of what a bad beer tastes like. They asked us to fill in a questionair about favourite beer styles, hops, and breweries. Alas there was nowhere I could just write in "Just make anything half-decent, pleeeeease. Stop fussing about hop varietals until you have worked out how to actually brew a beer". That’s not 100% fair, as one of the 6 was bloody good (Cho Cho Cho, a chocolate porter). Shame, I like to support brewpubs, but they’ve got to get beyond the homebrew stage first.“

“A typical Wetherspoons which used to be the oasis in a desert but is now overshadowed by 2 brewpubs nearby. Can form part of a pub crawl...“

“A decent Spoonies out Acton way. I think they had around 10 casks on offer. No blockbuster beers but I found something new. Fair pricing. Enjoyable ambiance as far as JDW pubs go. Worth popping in here if you are in the area (perhaps to visit the Aeronaut and George & Dragon).“

“A little iffy. During my visit they only had a couple house beers on and they weren’t in great condition. Fun looking venue ambiance-wise. Average value. Hopefully the beers improve. This place is near to the Dragonfly brewery/ George and Dragon pub so it would be worth visiting the two places in one go.“

“Visited on Tuesday May 20th with the Wingman approx 4.30pm - we had the place to ourselves for the duration of our stay. The Aeronaut is a brewpub from the Laine brewery group of pubs, brew kit visible behind the bar. I would guess the building dates to Victorian times and is nicely appointed, wooden floors, high and low leather chairs interspersed with bench seating, a similar appearance to their other London pub - the Peoples Park Tavern. Where the Aeronaut fails compared to its sister was the avaiability of beer, they only had one beer on cask, from the Laine brewery all of whose beers Ive had to date having been mediocre at best. One cask kicked whilst a pint was being poured. So 6 hand pulls and just one crappy home brew effort available - just not good enough! Service was friendly. The only thing likely to get me back here is the fact another brewpub is just a 3 minute walk down the road, Dragonfly brewery at the George & Dragon so good to pair up when looking for new ticks. One other oddity of the Aeronaut (see website) as you enter there is a roped off door to the left. A circus troop supposedly performs here from time to time! If you ask me they want to concentrate on getting more than one beer from brewkit to tap over and above acro fucking batics! The location is pretty much the centre of Acton and a 10 minute, or less, walk from all of the rail/underground stations. Pretty piss poor showing all told ... Must do better!!“
