“Old Nat-West bank transformed into a cafe/bar. Modern and rustic design with an upstairs area. A fridge full of Titanic bottles and a few lines.“

“Visited on Thursday 12th March 2020. The only person in there for the whole hour, just me and the owner. Three cask ales, three keg beers and loads of cider. Still feels new (which it is), a bit hollow, with an echo as you speak, we discussed 'bafflers' for the ceiling. Oblong room with the bar at the far end from the door, clean, neat and tidy. Basic and modern in design and lay out.“

“Brand new micropub / cider bar in Newport from Hurst View Cider, based just over the border in Staffordshire. Smart, basic set-up in a square box shop, hidden just off the main high street, large map of the world covering the entire length of one wall (which I'm sure will spur the regaling of many drunken travel stories). At the back is 2 cask lines, 2 craft keg, 2 of their own sparkling keg cider, 2 lagers from Germany's Aktien brewery (now ubiquitous in West Midlands micropubs) and a choice of around 6 Hurst View box ciders. 5 different bottles to take out. Staff very helpful, friendly, talkative. Low-volume Northern Soul music gives a bit of atmosphere, that lacks in nearby Bod and other such micro-pubs. Nice place, great to see Newport's beer / cider scene developing nicely.“

“Visited on a cold and wet Friday afternoon; 28th Feb 2020. This is the fourth Bod that the Titanic brewery has opened, most in ex-Nat West Banks. Smart and modern design with an open stairway up to an upper level. Coffee shop, cafe like during the day, more bar by night. Titanic beers to the fore (four on cask, more in keg form and in bottles/cans). The two guest hand-pulls had beers from Wantsum and Everards, keg lines and the fridge offered a decent selection of beers too. I liked the vibe of the place and the beer quality was fine.“

“Nice, smart cafe-bar -slash- micropub operated by Staffordshire's Titanic Brewery. Goes for a kind of shabby chic kind of vibe, reclaimed wood, industrial touches etc.. but overall effect is of a smart, interesting micro-bar. Coffee and cake served during the day with assorted baguettes, breakfast items, bacon baps, ultra posh locally sourced pork pies / sausage rolls etc.. I went for a pork and apple sausage roll slice that was presented well. Beer range was focussed on Titanic beers, around 5 on cask, a few on keg, with some others from Everards, Tiny Rebel and Signature Brew. All exceptionally well kept, impeccable condition. One tall bottle fridge with some interesting 'craft' options from Black Iris, Vibrant Forest, Tiny Rebel and numerous others. Dog Friendly. Nice vibe here. Good option for interesting beer in this secluded corner of Shropshire.“

“Enjoyed our visit to this Joules pub with a great selection from their beer range. We chose Old No 6 a winter warmer, and Penny Pincher. The inside is sort of open plan layout with separate areas going off it. There is a lovely laid out garden with plenty of seating.“

“Third visit on 10th Jan 2017 (for a CAMRA meeting). Joules spent a lot of time and money refurbishing this place from ’an old man’s pub’ into a slick, food orientated destination. Four of their own beers on cask: the three regulars and whatever is their seasonal, one guest beer also on hand-pull. Like most of the Joules refurbs wood is prominent on the walls, flooring and furniture. This is no different and has some nice features in all it’s many rooms. One main bar serves all areas. A bit too foodie for me, but it’s very popular because of the menu. Prices a bit high for this area, staff always pleasant and the food is actually quite good.“
