COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Boston Lager® is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash, a time consuming, traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager® also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley, as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full, smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger, add a wide range of floral, piney and citrus notes, which are present from the aroma, through the flavor, to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world’s oldest hops growing area. Among the world’s most expensive, they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2024 Bottle. Amber lager with very good foam. Aroma: fruity and floral hop, some woody or even pine undertones, a caramel and malt. Taste: full malt body, good hop bitterness, caramel, slightly toasted white bread, good brew.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2023 En copa Leffe, color bastante atractivo, ámbar claro con destellos dorados, espuma blanquecina de media retención En nariz aroma no muy intenso pero ciertamente agradable, malta, caramelo, miel, ligero lúpulo.
En boca es delicada y elegante, dulce de entrada, con finas y ricas notas de caramelo, malta y vainilla, coronadas con un final ligeramente amargo y lupulado. Muy equilibrada, casi primorosa. Personalmente me ha enamorado bastante esta Boston Lager, ha superado mis expectativas, un primor de cerveza.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2023 33cl bottle at San Diego airport, CA, USA. Pours amber, scarcely transparent, with whitish fine foam. Aroma is malty, a little floral. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is medium sweet, with some underlying bitterness. Final is average, with some sweetness.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2023 Pours a clear amber with a large head and good lacing. Nice strong malt backbone with caramel and a hint of spices. Finishes with a bitter bite. Overall a really good lager with some character.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2023 Old Untappd checkin, December 28, 2015. Pours a clear reddish, brown with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, and some light spices. Tastes of sweet malts, caramel, biscuit, and dry honey. Slightly hoppy finish.
