This beer is aged in Woodford Bourbon Barrels, some of the most sought after bourbon barrels in the craft brew industry. We took the recipe for our Black Lager and doubled the ingredients. Forty days after the magic happened, the goat was birthed. Black Goat is a Double Black Lager, sure to please the harshest of critics. Caution: this billy kicks! UPDATED: NOV 10, 2018 This is a superior black lager, smoothed out in a Bourbon barrel. Tasty as anything I have had that is not an ale, in a barrel. Thanks to Perrin for going out on a limb.

On tap at Hopcat A2. Pours black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet and earthy dark grains with a bit of roasted malts and bourbon supporting. Flavor is similar with lots of sweet dark grains and bourbon with light roast and earthiness underlying.

On tap at the brewery. Black body. Aroma is oak, some bourbon, dark chocolate and black malt. Tastes of bourbon with a heavy dose of oak. Chocolate and roast. Low sweetness, but not bitter either. Smooth creamy finish. Lingering vanilla. Medium heavy. Pretty good, but also pretty alcoholic.
