mcberko (42056) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 11, 2022
UPDATED: NOV 11, 2022 12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany / dark brown head. Aroma brings out lots of dark dried fruits, bourbon barrel, and bready caramel. Flavour is very boozy and hot, with hot bourbon barrels, dark dried fruits, some tartness, and bready malt. Way too hot and slightly tart. Pretty harsh and lacking coordination. It’s okay.

nickd717 (10342) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAR 28, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2020 Bottle from the Taverooni. Dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is toffee, molasses, raisins, bourbs, aged hops. Flavor is sweet raisin prune toffee juice, bourbon, but the aged hop flavor just isn’t the best. Honestly American b-wizzle can drop off the earth, and that’s a promise (“The Room” line). English spanks, American blows. Full body, medium carb.

hopdog (25009) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 25, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 25, 2020 Waxed bottle. Poured a deep amber to brown color with a smaller sized tan head. Vanilla, wood / oak, sweet, dark fruits, and bourbon. Nice sipper.

poisoneddwarf (5655) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - MAR 21, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2020 Gold wax-dipped 12 oz. Aroma is Bourbon, caramel, wood, toffee, licorice. Pours hazy brown with a one finger beige head with decent retention. Taste is highly sweet, not cloying, savory, with a lightly bitter finish. Kind of boozy, but not overwhelmingly so. Perfect velvety mouthfeel. Another amazing BA barleywine.

Pours a deep brown-amber with off white head. BOURBon boozy aroma. Quite sweet and intense, malty syrupy with a nice warm Kentucky hug going down; lots of bourbon character. This is more of a winter supper than a summer beer. Notes: on tap at the brewery, Aug ‘18
