Alengrin (11051) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 29, 2018Amber lager - very likely inspired by Brooklyn Lager from the brewery's owner - tasted from bottle at Arlanda airport in Sweden. Regularly shaped, moussy, opening, egg-white, not too stable head on a clear pale orangey amber-hued beer with vivid sparkling. Weak aroma, notes of wet peanuts, toast, minerals, carrot cake, toasted pinenuts, sunflower seeds, hard caramel candy. Malty profile, slick caramelly with a light, clean mouthfeel, some apple peel fruitiness but very subtle, medium carbonated; caramelly and lightly peanutty malt body till the end, only a light herbal-bitterish hoppy note in the finish but the caramelly malt sweetishness prevails. Very uneventful, like a tuned down, less expressively 'American' hoppy version of Brooklyn Lager - as if this brewery felt the need to adapt that legendary American lager to a generic European palate...

Bov (14982) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - SEP 3, 2017from supermarket Coop - quite clear red-amber beer with a modest head retention; aroma of red fruits, paper and caramel; sweet and tart, moderate carbonation; quite dry with some harsh bitterness; more red fruits in the finish
caribou43 (3082) - SWITZERLAND - AUG 9, 2017I picked up this bottle in one Coop, in my area. I tried this beer the last week, at home after to go back from Lutry, watching the fire for the National Party. Personnaly, I found this beer correct, drinkable for the style and decent for this big group. Firstly, the body is brown/copper, ordinary carbonation, white foam. For an amber, I could say that the taste is mineral and a bit metalic and at the final of your taste, you have aromas of malt and some toffee, hop. It is not a complex beer but nice at your local pub.
Ungstrup (51382) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 18, 2017Draft. An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, bread, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish.
