BenL8 (1832) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 6, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2022 A super interesting iteration of the spaghetti western. Really enjoy the original version, as it is a very nice espresso imperial stout. The espresso impy character is retained nicely here, with the addition of fruity barrel notes that should be expected from a grappa BA. Never had a grappa BA in general and I think most beers would not really fit that finish, whereas this works really well.

lello4ever (2193) - Torino, ITALY - MAY 6, 2020

PapaSkeetSkeet (1320) - Providence, Rhode Island, USA - NOV 23, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 23, 2019 Bottle at Fortnight in downtown Providence, RI. Black with an inch of frothy medium-brown head. Aroma is lemony herbs (guessing thats what grappa smells like), green chile pepper, old coffee, bit of chocolate, toasted wheat bread, hint of licorice, cherry, some blackberry. Body is medium-weight, syrupy-watery, carbonation is medium-big, as is the burn, felty. Flavor is light coffee, chocolate, bit of caramel and toasted bread crust, berry notes are less prominent here but still present. Pretty dry for the style, which is nice. A bit of lake vegetation underneath. Pretty good - not overbearing coffee / chocolate! The grappa comes through more in hte nose and subsides as it airs.
