This dark beer is a nod to the archer of yesteryear. The rich and full-roasted toffee malt delivers a lingering flavour that is straight & true... & really hits the spot

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2020 Bottled, 500ml from the local Co-Op in Banbury, Oxon. Dark brown with ruby hue and off white head. Really very sweet from the start, there is a caramel flavour to it, boiled cereals, sweet biscuits. There is a thin fruitiness. It's okay.

LagerGuide122 (909) - - JUL 21, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2019 500ml bottle brewed in UK at 3.6%. Medium-sized shortish-lasting head. Near-black in colour. Slight grass aroma with an undercurrent of burnt. Mild carbonation, just to excite the tip of your tongue. A dark fruit flavour turns into a taste (and aftertaste) best likened to the limited edition Frijj milkshake flavour 'Irish Coffee', which itself was more of an 'Irish Cream' and marketed as a non-alcoholic alternative to Baileys. This is a splendid beer and very well-crafted; you can tell they've hit the bullseye. The question is, however, will this hit the spot for you? It's definitely on the right side of becoming sickly, but there's no denying this is a sweet beer, with creamy, cocoa flavours and a touch of coffee-esque bitterness lurking. Smooth as all get-out. If that sounds appealing, get in there!
