This dark beer is a nod to the archer of yesteryear. The rich and full-roasted toffee malt delivers a lingering flavour that is straight & true... & really hits the spot

Was nicely surprised by the sweetness of this dark beer. Lighter than I normally drink but definitely worth a try

What a great find in a variety box of Wychwood bottled ales. I love Hobgoblin but this Arrowmaine was a really good find amongst them. For 3.6% alcohol by volume content, it was a delightful, full bodied, dark beer with plenty of taste and aroma. I will be seeking more of this ale out, in addition to the Hobgoblin.

Bottle. Strength shown on label as 3.6 per cent. Malty with a brown appearance. Quite powerful body considering its relatively low strength. Quite smooth and easy to drink. Better than I expected.

Bottle, 0.5l. Black pour with one finger beige head. Below average retention, ok lacing. Roasted malts and chocolate dominate the nose paired with some woody notes. Thin body, very soft carbonation. Texture also quite soft on the tongue, very pleasant and smooth mouthfeel. Taste is mostly on the sweet side with little to none bitterness towards the finish. Aroma is malty and sugary, slightly roasted and woody. Notes of chocolate and cappuccino. Short finish with lingering sweetness. Overall, pretty nice and flavorful for the low ABV. Personally, a bit too sweet for my tastes, but decent nonetheless.

Dark colour with head quickly gone. Light toasted malt and some caramel but a watery palate. Disappointing.

Nice sweet brown mild ale . Nice looker , cola colour indeed with cream head. Chocolate on nose . Nice one indeed. Just over a quid in home bargains . Extremely well rounded for strength

berkshirejohn (6617) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - APR 21, 2017
50cl bottle picked up in Long Eaton. A dark cola coloured pour with a tight coffee coloured head; strong, rich, spicy malt aroma; sweet caramel malt taste with some vanilla and a light earthy bitterness; before a sweet finish. A rather good dark mild.

Bottle from a Wychwood mixed box. Pours a very very dark red-brown with a fast-settling tan foam. Light roastiness on the nose leads to a soft-textured roasty-sweet body with low bitterness, a hint of milk chocolate and a toasted malt edge that’s faintly herbal.
