UPDATED: JUL 12, 2023 1/2 pint (5.2%) by handpump at Crown Posada, Newcastle upon Tyne on 6 Jul 2023: grassy, herbal aroma, amber with a protein haze, creamy off-white head, fine lacing, herbal, citrus, grains flavour, quite harsh, creamy texture, medium body, good carbonation, bitter dry finish.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2022 Cask at the Newark beer festival 2022. Light hazed golden colour with an off white head. Aroma and taste are malty, citrus, slight bready and bittersweet to slight bitter.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2020 From wooden cask, third shared with Finn at Manchester Beer & Cider Festival, Wood Bar. Misty amber body, naked surface, poor lacing. Canned fruity nose. Malt-fruity taste profile, caramel and citrus. Ends dry and bittersweet. Satisfying. (2nd day of the festival, 23.01.2020).

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2020 500ml bottle from Beers of Europe and drunk on 24/02/2006. A decent enough, fairly sweet and fruity pale, which I thought was more of a bitter, at the time.

Cask at the Richmond beer festival. Slightly cloudy amber ale with no head. Bitter sweet start, fruity with a little caramel. Pretty decent.

Nice overall Taste, easy to drink. Drank at beer festival and very in demand and enjoyable

Chris’ BB2006 bottle. Amber with a small white head. Aroma of dark fruit and sherry, strongly oxidized. Sweet fruity flavour

Vintage, accidentally (as in “where did that come from”) “cellared”, 500ml bottle. Drunk at home after Great British Beer Festival, day 3, on 4 August 2011. Amber colour. Good fluffy white head. Still plenty of life. The hops have faded (obviously) but the biscuity malts have held up well and the mouthfeel remains firm. Not too much oxidation. In fact it has held up rather well altogether. Flagged for re-rate though.

[ Vintage BBF 0406 ]. Clear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, oxidide, light hoppy, citrus. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, raisin and cardbord notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110804]
