COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Its been around for 15 years now, and its still going strong. When we first made the Hophead back in 2003, it was considered one of the hoppiest beers around. But tastes and styles have changed significantly over that time. We now consider the Hophead to be a well-balanced New Zealand IPA with floral aromatics, strong citrus hop character and a clean bitter finish.

Jar on tap at brewery. Deep golden colour with no head. I think the jars kill the head. No aroma, no carbonation. Flat mouthfeel. Nutty, slightly fruity and bitter. Funky earthy finish. Actually really nice but looks ordinary

There is nothing wrong at all with this beer, it is well balanced and bright and crisp, and very easy drinking. Looks great in the glass, decent head, decent lacing. Lacks real bitterness but has quaffability and that ’session’ beer quality about it that makes you wish you had another. It is a really decent IPA, it isn’t a class leading hop explosion IPA. It is a beer I wish I had another of.
