UPDATED: APR 20, 2024 7 year old bottle (2017), drunk 4/19/24. Dark, inky, somewhat viscous, clear. Small, tan head quickly fizzles out. No green pepper! And really, not much coffee at all, which is fine with me. Soft, rich, enveloping vanilla and milk chocolate with rich maltiness and a bit of roasted acidity. A touch of oxidation but it quickly passes. Certainly far less than expected. No booze. In the mouth it's still richly malty with tons of cocoa, milk chocolate and strong vanilla. Time has thinned out the body some, but it's gone from probably syrupy to just moderately malty and lightly chewy. Clean, balanced and with no sign of alcohol. The vanilla is done very well. Impressive that a coffee stout would hold up this well at 7 years. Obviously a sign of a well-made beer.

Pitch black colour. Aroma of tar, chocolate, maple, roasted malt, bourbon, light vanilla. Thick body, rich malt and chocolate flavour, sweet and syrupy, with strong vanilla and bourbon notes, delicate coffee, and a strong boozy note.
Oh well…

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2019 500ml bottle. Pours a pitch black in color and topped by a small tan layer of foam that fades away quick and rejoins the body below. The aroma I should really nice, rich, and decadent with loads of dark chocolate, fudge, roasted coffee, espresso, and toasted vanilla over a dark roasted and caramel malt base with further notes of bourbon soaked oak. As it warms up the vanilla and Jamaican blue mountain coffee really start to shine. The flavor follows suit with the rich dark chocolate, fudge, and toasted caramel integrating in perfectly with the earthy roasted coffee and rich creamy vanilla. There is a nicely balancing bitterness on the back end while the bourbon oak adds further depth and helps cut through the roast. Full bodied and smooth with soft carbonation that leads to a dark chocolate, roasty coffee, and toasted vanilla on the finish with lingering notes of bourbon and oak with no sign of alcohol. Really nicely done barrel aged imperial stout with nice mix between the coffee and rich vanilla beans. Damn good stout here.

500 ml bottle, 2017 vintage shared by AdamChandler. Awesome aroma, lasting vanilla, coffee, chocolate. Mild roast. Bourbon in the flavor has faded a bit but the vanilla and coffee and still long and lasting. Body and texture is what I look for in a Imperial stout.

At this time, this is #27 on the list of Imperial Stouts. I've had it for at least 2 years, kind of forgot about it. Pours like motor oil, just a small bubbly head that fades quickly. Aroma is the sweetest most decadent vanilla and dark chocolate. Allowed this to warm up...wow, like chewing on a vanilla bean which is certainly overpowering It's not cloying but it does have a caramel chocolate bar sort of flavor or even 3 muskateers. yet not too sweet. Solid beer overall. I love the coffee throughout.
