This is the Bolivian version with a mere 4.1% alcohol in a 350ml can, found in Sucre. Has a very white fast disappearing head with a heavily carbonated yellow body. Aroma is ash and rotting leaves. Flavour is sour lemon juice with a hint of apple stems. In answering the eternal question of "how many pale lagers does one country need?" the answer, in this case, is "not this many".

330 ml beer. Grass smell. Dark gold color with almost no head. Taste is bad, and the hangover is the worst of the entire market, I can tell you that for experience. If you have no money, just spend a fewwww more pennies to buy becker, guys. Seriously.

35cl can shared by Arve_Christian - thanks! Pours clear pale golden with a small, white head. Quite standard pale lager aroma, some malt, cooked vegetables and hints of fruit. Some notes of basement, alcohol and metal and possibly traces of hops too. Slightly unpleasant, but drinkable under hot conditions I guess...

The can I had was made by AB in the US and shipped to Chile. And it was still the cheapest beer in the store. Dull gold colour. Not much head. The aroma is lightly malty with some grainy sourness. Sweet and sour character is almost candyish, with sour grainy notes. Tastes like it was made by AB. Awful.

On bottle from local supermarket. Golden color, ok foam. Some aromas of malt & fruit- but mostly boiled vegetables. Liht/medium body & complexity. Some sweetness, a bit unbalanced with regard to alchol ok beer

Not too easy to get hold of outside its region, but a decent all-round beer if found.

Rather cheap compared to other Chilean beers, but more vile. Grainy. Vomit. Very much like old beer.

Clear golden with almost no head. Aroma of hops, weak malt and alcohol. Flavor is mild bitter and a bit sweet. Light to medium body. Being a lager with higher ABV than Escudo, it’s one of its main competitors at the moment of buying cheap lager for partying (but no one beats Escudo!).

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2007 (in can, supermarket in Chile). Golden color, near to the color orange tree. Alcoholic aroma, and something of candy. The cereals and the rice are obvious very much. (And probably that more). The flavor is something bitter and with something of candy. In the palate the body is regular, animated, but with a bitter end. It is a alcoholic beer. Anyhow I remain with the "Escudo".
