Bottle from Beers'n'more. Pours black with a deep brown head. Aroma is maple, truffle, toffee, caramel, dark chocolate, vanilla, booze, all a bit obscene but harmonic. Body is heavy, sweet and boozy, very intense. Flavour profile continues, with a low carbonation and hints of acidity, yet not enough to kill the punch. Fits well though. On the edge of being too much, but hitting all the notes perfectly. Great!

From Saveur Biere. In Teku glass. Playing Avernum 2. Very complex, with maple syrup, chocolate, vanilla and the general feel of being having a sweet dessert instead of a beer. High Abv totally hidden

Geweldig! Smaak: Zeer zoet , lactose, nootachtig, hazelnoot, chocoladecreme, Maple siroop, vanille. Geweldig bier!

UPDATED: APR 11, 2018 Opaque black beer with a slight dark brown head. Medium/heavy aroma; taste starts heavy sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. Maple, chocolate, mocha and roasted malts. 8/5/9/4

Bottle - Syrup, pastry and dark chocolate roast. Jet black with a small beige head. Pure maple syrup. Insane.

UPDATED: APR 7, 2018 I’m not even joking... Superlatives would belittle this. Perfect pour leads to an opaque, slightly raspberry colour on the surface. Nose reminiscent of the chocolate fudge cake that mum used to make. Delving in, completely coats the palate with supreme creamy smoothness leading to a deep, rich fudge cake blended with coffee. Dessert in a glass but oh so much more.

UPDATED: APR 7, 2018 Unbelievable beer. Jet black with a tan head. Nose is straight chocolate fudge cake. Liqueur and coffee. Palate is thick and coating. Taste is incredibly sweet yet not at the same time. There's a lovely bitter dryness. Raisins and PX sherry. Honey and syrup. Absolutely sublime. As close to perfect as I've tasted a beer to be.

(330ml bottle from kihoskh.dk) Pours motor oil black with a tiny ring of brown bubbles. Aroma of rich maple syrup, baker's chocolate, cacao, earth, brown sugar, vanilla ice cream, soft woody quality, light toasted nuts and cinnamon, seriuosly intense, the feeling does convey waffles even though a suggestion of batter is probably psychosomatic. Flavour is sweet as expected, dripping with maple syrup, brown sugar, fudge, cake batter, cacao, vanilla cream, light earth, moderately roasty malt, cinnamon kisses, a bit of sweet cold brew coffee in the finish too. Rather full-bodied and syrupy with quite light carbonation and a hint of booze. Overall, this is rich in both aroma and flavour, lush dessert. Very tasty.

330mL bottle 11.5% from Oldfield Cellars BB 27 Dec 2022 Shit it's dark - pours like oil, thick viscous pitch black, brown cream head persists. Yep - smells like waffles with maple syrup. Amazing yet almost one dimensional in some sense - just smells sweet, caramelly, waffley, milk chocolate. Body is thick, slick, syrupy, does it have carbonation? Some acrid roast character adds a bit of relief from BAGS of sweetness. Intense flavours - Maccas hotcake syrup for sure, milk chocolate again Cadbury-esque i guess not great, very sweet becomes bitter on finish overall sweet though, sort of chalky on the finish. Find this probably a bit hard to drink TBH - balance geared toward sweet - don't get me wrong, flavours are spot on & amazing, just a balance thing - one is easily enough!

Bottle, 13C. Black with a brown head that soon retreats to the rim. 3+ Aroma is part beer - a quite roasty coffee stout, part vanilla cake batter and part maple syrup. Maybe a little smoke. Sometimes whatever it is in maple syrup (sap? bark?) that gives it a bitter edge complements its sweetness well - and it does here. Oily, low carbonation. Certainly is sweet though. But there's enough room under the maple and vanilla cake for an insistent but not harsh roasted rumble. The ABV is not surprising but there's no raw booze. Not totally my sort of thing but enjoyable.
