UPDATED: APR 12, 2023 Draft at Kumas Schaumburg. Pours black with a small khaki head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Big bourbon and coffee notes on the nose and tongue. Hides its booze well. Has a bit of sweetness on the finish. Well balanced.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2023 Bottle. A- Fudge, alcohol. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, no head. T- Coffee, dark chocolate, oak, bourbon. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Full and balanced. Sweeter than I expected and still quite fresh. The coffee is very much there but I admit I thought it would be stronger and roastier, but it is balanced by an oaky bourbon and dark chocolate. Solid stuff obviously.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2023 Bottle at BCBS share. Black pour with a sparse beige head. Aroma is roasty malts and coffee. Taste continues with roasty bitterness, coffee, chocolate. Well balanced.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2022 This is my 2500th review, 21 years of this! Pours black, brief tan head. Nose is rich earth, coffee, wood, char, chicory and a dash of coconut. A bit sweeter than expected, Kahlua, coffee, fudge, nuttiness and some lacto flashes in the back. A delicious beer!
