UPDATED: SEP 26, 2020 330ml bottle at Cafe Lion, Bruges on 01/03/2011. Deep ruby. Nice slight roastiness on the nose with berries and chewy malt. Good dark fruit flavours. Boozy punch.

Best lekker.

Bottle 33cl bought at De Hopduvel In Gent. Pours dark hazy brown with a red glow to it and a big beige/brown head. Nose: a very strong metal feeling, roasted malts, caramel, cardemom. Taste: medium carbonation. Metal feeling, some sirup, watery texture, malt, medium bitter.

Not so much "noir" as ruddy brown, balancing mild measures of fruity, tangy, roasty and spicy, only faintly bitter, but none of it saying anything in particular and never adding up to being anything more than bland for its hefty strength. Technically clean, which was not always the case.

No gusher, unlike the name does sound like.. Pours dark, clear brown. Big white head. Smell is weak. If anything, metallic. Taste is bitter, roasted coffee with a sweet, toffee undertone. Overcarbonated and low MF ( what else, its Belgian... ) I don’t hate this beer as much as others appear to do .

Barwa: ciemna, rubinowa, w miarę dolewania coraz bardziej zmętniona. Piana koloru ecru, dość obfita, drobno pęcherzykowa, otrzymująca się. [5/5] Aromat: ciemne słody, ciemne owoce, czekolada, melanoidyny oraz nuta alkoholowa. Smak: lekko kwaskowy na początku, dość pełny, słodowy, następnie nieco słodki. Posmaki owoców, rodzynek, miodu, odrobinę czekolady, spieczonego ciasta i zdecydowanie alkoholowa końcówka.

Creamy pale brown head. Metallic aroma. Some faint powdery smoke aroma. Somewhat sour. Watery texture.

Idiosynkrasie (16103) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - FEB 18, 2014
330ml bottle. Clear, darkest copper colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweetish, sugary, dark malty aroma, hints of rock sugar, yeasty overtones. Taste is sweet, sugary, dark malty, minimally roasty dark malty; slightly alcoholic finish, lively carbonation. Doesn’t fit, neither in appearance nor taste, my understanding of Schwarzbier; apart from ’style critique’ not really a good beer in general.
