UPDATED: FEB 25, 2024 Ondoorzichtig zwartkleurig bier met een 2-vingerdikke bruine schuimkraag van fijne structuur die geruime tijd blijft staan. Ik ruik duidelijk het aroma van bittere honing aangevuld met chocola. Bij de eerste slok wordt het smaakpallet nog uitgebreid met drop en iets licht rokerigs. Het bier is zacht met een volle body en een afdronk met een alcoholische nasmaak.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2023 Creamy dark beige head. Dark brown colour. Aroma is malty, roasty with licorice and dried fruits notes. Flavor is malty too with licorice, coffee, dark chocolate and dried fruits tones, ending in a chocolate accented finish. Medium bodied.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2023 Robe noire. Nez qui dégage des arômes empyreumatiques. L'attaque est plutôt riche et ronde sur des notes de miel, de chocolat et de malts rôtis presque brûlés. Les gorgées suivantes montrent un bel équilibre entre les saveurs torréfiées et l'apport du miel. L'ensemble se termine par une délicieuse finale sèche.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2022 Black with thick creamy head. Aroma has cocoa powder, dark malts and honey. Flavour has a bitter, roasted malt note. Dark chocolate too. Oily, silky texture.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2022 Bottle from Fin as I remember, thanks so much! Drunk to celebrate that my 11 year old HD beamer still works after replacing the bulb. Oily dark brown with a thin brown head. Nose is roasted malt, dark honey. I wouldn't have guessed chestnut without reading the label but I do recognize its distinctive flavor, having had a few jars picked up in Italy before. Very smooth and warming on the tongue with a long aftertaste of caramel, honey, and finally roasted barley coffee-like notes. It's sweet at first but the big hop bitterness draws it out even at the end. What a beer!

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2022 Bottle, thank you so much for this treasure Fin! Darkest brown with a chestnut red shine, dark brown to golden head. Deep raisin, Honigkuchen/ginger spice and lightly smoked nose. Fullbodied, mellow. Port vineous, perfumed hop which leads towards herbal grass and dill dryness, roast, salt licorice, chocolate, honey, flowery retronasal. Rich with plenty of features to explore.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2022 375 ml bottle poured in to a Snifter. As 'Thornbridge Bracia'. Near black with a dense tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, coffee, bitter chocolate, slightly peated. Lots of herbal sweet from the honey. Taste is sweet. Full bodied. Drying fruity finish with lingering dark malts and honey. Intense.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2021 Botella @Barcelona Beer Festival 2021. 4 y 5 DICIEMBRE 2021. Color negro opaco espuma beige, aromas tostados, licos, sabor licorosos tostados, madera cuerpo sedoso. MUY BUENA.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2021 Opaque black beer with a slight brown head. Medium aroma; taste starts medium sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. Caramel, chocolate and roasted malts. Not an easy one to describe; autumn leaves maybe. 7/5/8/4

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2021 Pours black with a thin, dark tan head. Aroma is dried fruit, cocoa and licorice. Taste is chocolate, raisin and honey, moving to wood, coffee and licorice. Finish is sweet raisin, chocolate and licorice.
