ClarkVV	3.5 Burlington Beer North of Kathmandu Brewery draught, 6/16/24. 2023 vintage. Dark. Tan head slowly to partial cover. Holy bourbon, batman! That's a lot of fresh, somewhat raw bourbon. Hard to get much else.... It fares better in the mouth, thankfully. Coconut front and center with a chewy, malty, rich body that is equally well-attenuated. The bourbon is quite prevalent but not dominant or sharp/raw like it is in the nose. Sweet malt and coconut lingering with good bourbon acidity. Not boozey, low roast. Weird nose but as long as the flavor/texture is decent, which it is, I'm not too worried. Sunday, June 16, 2024
ClarkVV	3.4 Burlington Beer / Alvarium Phresh Wizard Brewery draught, 6/16/24. Moderately hazy, blonde-brass-golden. Small, white head, quickly to ring. Nose has pineapple, scallion, dough and biscuit. Some floral-vegetal notes...hint of citrusy juice on the end. Soft, juicy, spicy. Starts out super muted, very scallion. But opens up considerably, adding lemongrass, more mosaic spice and pineapple. Biscuit, dough, honey. Lingering Citra with a mosaic undertone. Sunday, June 16, 2024
ClarkVV	2.5 Burlington Beer Firethorn Pint on Lukr at the brewery, 6/16/24. Bright honey-bronze-maize. Small, white head, steadily to partial cover. A bit doughy, lightly peppery, very mildly smokey. More dough than anything. Not sure why it comes off that way. You get light dough in a lot of lagers but not this much. Yeah, a bit doughy-grassy-vegetal in the mouth with soft maltiness, low carbonation and very, very light smoke. Woody, bready, doughy. Not too snappy/crisp. Aroma of citrusy fruits, lemon and grapefruit mostly along with grass, floral hops and some light herbal notes ….. taste is of spicy floral hops, bitter dry hops, herbal/black pepper bite, sweet caramel malts, rindy grapefruit and bitter lemon ….. has some grass to and some bready malts ….. aroma is subtle but the flavor hits you nicely on this one …. Tropical fruity and piney, hoppy aroma, notes of yellow stone fruit, some lychee, melon, pine needles, oaty malty background. Taste is rather watery, piney and fruity hoppy, oaty and wheaty basis with some residual sweetness, rather unspecific fruitiness with citrusy interludes. Slightly oily, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Relatively piney, homogeneous, drinkable - pretty nice. Wednesday, May 1, 2024
