Magic Rock is owned by the Kirin Company, one of the largest beer companies in the world, and part of the Mitsubishi group. It opened in 2011 as a small independent brewery at Quarmby in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. In 2015 the brewery moved to Birkby in Huddersfield. In 2019 the brewery was acquired by Australian brewing group Lion Co, who are owned by Kirin. In 2022 the Brewery was sold, along with Fourpure, to Odyssey Inns, a UK based pub operator.
