Beer drinkers in old New York used to send their kids down to the local bar to get a pail of beer. Owners thought it was kosher to put a healthy head on the pail, (less beer)obviously!The street smart patrons used to put a thin coat of butter or lard around the rim to prevent the collar from forming! Pretty slick, huh??!!
