I just received 2 trade messages from members who I did trades with. One was stoked to get what he thought was a bunch of extras and the other got one bottle when he was supposed to get multiples... This is a double edge sword... How do you fix this without letting a member down?

It seems FedEx mixed up the labels... They had the right names and addresses on the hand written stickers they require me to fill out and stick to the box, but it seems the FedEx barcode tracking label they print got put on the wrong boxes, hence the mix up...

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how did you fix it? I don’t want to send red flags to FedEx of the contents, so do I even contact them on the mistake or do I just reimburse the members to do a swap and send them both a mystery care package to make it up?

Advise please...

Tell both of them what happened and advise Fedex that they messed up so that you can get a credit for them to send to the correct person for you. This is not your fault, so each trade partner should totally understand.

Also think about opening an account so that this doesn’t happen again. It saves a lot of time, it is cheaper, and you get points that you can apply to purchases.

Good advise. I did not know about a FedEx point program!

I was wondering the same. Never heard of points, would like to know more.

To the OP, as Cletus said, start a FedEx account. I believe its 10% cheaper than going to an actual location. Plus, you do not need to declare its contents. I print out my own labels, go to a FedEx location, drop it off on the scale and say "this one is ready to go!" and walk away.

I also weigh my own packages so when I drop off I’m really done.

You are less likely to mix up the labels if you print them out yourself.

I have noticed that for about 110% of my packages, they have been re-weighed and re-assessed for shipping charges. I don’t think everyone who is putting down 8.2 pounds for a 15 pound box is getting one over on the man. just sayin.

Signed up! Too bad I didn’t do this with my first 300+ trades...
