Happy Sunday =) Middle Ages Dragonslayer.

The body is full and smooth and the hop presence is unusually strong. It grew on me though. The roasted character is bold and dominant in the drink and not for the weak. This is not a terribly sweet beer. The sweetness it has though is ample to excite the nose. The bitter it has is sufficient to provoke the palate. It is as though they set out to tempt and then slay you.

Gigantic IPA. In the middle of the road for the style.

Founders Doom. It’s all right man. Doesn’t need the barrel though, strangely hot with booze.

Drake’s Denogginizer. A 4 month bottle doesn’t leave much left of the hop factor. Darn it.

While watching the SF/Indy football game a Stone R&R Coconut IPA.

Schlafly Oatmeal Stout. A little weak for an oat stout; flavors start out nice, but don’t last very long at all. It’s my lowest rated non-impy on RB so far.

Finishing the night on Chimay Blue. Properly, LIGHTLY chilled this time - wow, it’s almost perfect. Turns into a wussy apple drink with too much cold, but the robust complexity and greatness is brought out at the proper temp. Belgian Strongs are best neither warm nor too cold, and tonight’s amazing Chimay is living proof. There is nothing like a great Belgian Strong.
