58 Easy to find, pretty central as everything in Eindhoven I suppose. Service was good. Beers were pretty much all Belgian with a very small number of common Dutch beers. Pretty much all Belgian beers were mainstream & common despite them offering a large number of them. Menu listed no prices which bothered me a bit. I found no new beers for me which was unfortunate. Prices were high as elsewhere in Einhoven. Serious food appeared to be served only evening & the place seemed to be restaurant oriented. I didn’t look at the menu. High prices & beers that I can easily find in Belgium didn’t really entice me to be honest. Service was good, atmosphere didn’t do much for me. There was a large group of Corona, Marco cider, gin & vodka Brits while I was there plus a small number of locals which wasn’t my scene but those might have been an exception. |
70 We sat outside and watched the chaos as a lorry tried to get past the postal service van that was parked up. We chatted to a couple of the locals. Service was good. Beer choice OK. We had snacks to eat which were fine. |
60 Based on 1 visit. Nice, old style place. We wanted dinner with a nice beer. So you have to go upstairs. Service could pretend to be interested. Food was well prepared without being special. Beer range dull. Only the usual Belgian and Dutch stuff. So you’re able to get a good trappist. If the service was better and the range of beers more interesting this place could be a hot spot.Prices ok. |
56 An ok place to enjoy a beer and/or a dinner, nothing special. They have quite a lot of beers, but almost all are "standard" Belgian or Dutch beers: the trappists, abbey beers and some beers from the more known breweries. We enjoyed our meal and beer, it wasn’t too expensive, but next time we’ll try some other place. |
60 Visited at 30 december 2014 with Caear. Seems one of the only places opened in Eindhoven (What a terrible ugly town, probably the next ugliest thing in Holland after Almere) at around 16:00 during this period of the year. Anyways typical old style beer pub, with all those metal plates on the wall with Belgian breweries. Lots of heavy stuff on tap. Friendly service, friendly people. Okay. Not the biggest choice in beer. |
60 Because everything else is closed on tuesday at 1600, we had to enter this place. At ground level is a big spacious bar, a bit UK-style, but also it looks a bit like a decorated lobby of a hotel, with upstairs a dining room. It was winter so the tap selection matches that of most Dutch oldskool beer bars: just 8% and up beers. Mainly the usual suspects on bottle. There was Avec Les bons veux and Bernardus Xmas on tap, so that was ok. Service was ok, a bit slow, but the bartender was only by herself in a packed bar. Couldnt try any food, as the dining part was still closed. |
56 Visited a Thursday for dinner, on December 11, 2014. Sat upstairs for food. First was told we could sit anywhere, selected a table, then was asked to move so they could possibly seat more people later and got a crappy 2 ppl table where a lot of people was moving around. Ordered beer and food, then after we got the beers, but before the food, was asked to move again, so they could use our table to build a 6 person table. My food was nice, a steak. My company had a salmon with a very nasty fennel sauce to it, strange indeed. Ordered extra fries that didn’t show up until we asked for it once again. Was never asked if I wanted a second beer, my company had water only, got a small glass, was not asked for a refill until we started waiving at the girl by the bar. Fairly big bottled beer selection, that menu was not available in English though. Mainly Dutch and Belgian beers. Nice enough place, I could go back for beers by the downstairs bar, but the food I’d get somewhere else, mainly due to fairly poor service. No problem to pay by the card, though you needed to go to the bar to pay if you didn’t use cash. I guess we got there around 6 pm or so, was fairly crowded downstairs, but not so much upstairs. Filled up until we left by 7.30 pm or so. Steep narrow stairs upstairs, not for the ones who don’t walk well. Had nice working WiFi. Seemed to use proper glass for all the beers. Centrally located, easy walk from pretty much anywhere central in Eindhoven. |
68 Leuke kroeg, met Nederlandse en Belgische bieren. Vriendelijke medewerkers. |
76 Visited in 2013. Nice selection of bottles. The tap selection wasn’t as interesting. Mostly belgian beers but a few dutch as well. It opened early in the day so a good place to start. |
58 Way too expensive, but a nice selection of Dutch and Belgian breweries. Staff isn’t too knowledged about the beers they’re selling. |
