90 Excelente Cervecería de Chicago, ambiente familiar e impecable, muy buena variedad de panes frescos para acompañar las excelentes cervezas que sirven! Recomendable!!!! |
86 Small tap room next to the brewery and next to a merch and beer store. Visited a Tuesday afternoon, June 2018. Not busy during my visit. 13 beers on tap. Flights available. Very good service. Beers were good. Didnt try the food. I would go again for sure. |

80 Half Acre is on Lincoln Ave. up in the Lincoln Square neighborhood (Montrose stop on the Brown Line). The operation seems to occupy a few storefronts sandwiched together, with a shop on the left, brewing operation in the middle stretching backward, and tap room on the right. There's a smallish food menu, and I would not recommend getting one of the burritos in bowl form; it was a pretty sad little bowl of ingredients plopped next to one another, bland and unsatisfying and overpriced. The service was good, though, and the beer is excellent. I got a couple flights and there were no losers in the bunch. There are so many Chicago breweries now, it's hard to say whether this one is still a strong recommendation above others, but if you're in the neighborhood, definitely visit. Just eat somewhere else. |
76 they have gained and not lost a step in brewing. huge place. solid hoppy beers and some other styles. |
82 6/16/18: Have picked up bottles from the adjacent store in the past, sat down to have a 20 ounce Beer Hates Astronauts. Small room, I sat at the bar, tables are spread in the tight room. Nice crowd for early Saturday evening. Excellent service despite the crowd, about a dozen draft offerings available in a sample and also in a small or large beer size. Very good selections, beer reasonably priced. Overall nice taproom and looking forward to a few more pours down the road. |
80 Nice enough place, decently sized, with good ambiance. Good enough tap list, and a fair amount of stuff to go. Staff was friendly. |
86 Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon as a pit stop during our german pub crawl. Medium sized taproom. Sampler flights available. Around 12-16 beers on tap when we visited. The five beers I tried were all good quality. Overall, a really nice stop - good quality beer, nice atmosphere, nice location. If we weren't hellbent on keeping our german pub crawl going, I would have liked to have stayed here for a couple hours. Definitely worth a stop. |
78 We ordered some food from the menu, this may be a new feature- pretty good food considering this. We went on a busy Sunday after the Cubs game, so it was a full house, the service was a bit busy. But the beers were solid and the bartender was helpful with beer selections. Worth a visit |
74 Visited in early July 2015. Big Garage. 8 oz pour is the smallest, but they’re mostly $3 each so leaving half isn’t a big deal. No food so they encourage you to bring in from any of the many local places, and even have a list of local food places within the immediate proximity. Beers are good, service staff is friendly. Worth a quick visit.
