You can definitely pick up the jalapeño flavor of his but it's not a bad thing. I'm interested in how this rates from the brewery ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hoppy IPA Sweet flavor Decent flavor This is a lighter sweet IPA than innormally drink but it is very flavorful. The citrus hops add a nice depth and keep a good palate after the finish. Had in a can, but would be interested to try again on tap, in sure the flavors would be better fresh out the keg. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pinkish light amber with the smell of flowers. Taste is strong with the hye-biscus, little overbearing really. While not horrible it’s not exactly good either and got it in the CAN too. Not going to buy this again.

Mild indiscernable aroma. Pours clear golden, moderate carbonation. A little bit of a sour off taste, with little hop flavor and overall watery. Really doesn’t taste much like an ipa, kind of disappointing considering I really like the name.

Poured a pink like Panther .. Solid foam produced by a gnome.. . Refreshing like a much needed slash .. Touch bitter on the end, which detracts nothing from world policies .. Good but it’s like kissing your mailman- enjoyable, fleeting, but nothing you’d want again and nothing you’d want to share with your friends; even though it did the job.. well.. 3-5 days delivery wasn’t quite met... never mind

From a can. A decent example, everything you expect and nothing crazy, just a solid hop driven beer.

Clear deep Amber under a sticky ivory white cap. Lovely nutty sweet toffee nose that’s got a dose of caramel and lagery sweet biscuit. Crisp lager biscuit backbone but built upon by lovely sweet toffee and english nuttiness, dryish and caratoffee finish. Nutty and lagery.

Not sure what’s up with this brew but the 7% ABV shown here is off. This is a session IPA at only 5.5% ABV, according to this CAN!. With that said, this is a golden brew with fair head that smells of citrus and pine. Taste is more of that citrus and pine with a thin extremely chuggable body. With the 5.5% think I will just chug this one on down. Ahhhh... that was good! Might chug one more and then try to just enjoy the last four, or not. They just keep yelling Chug, Chug, Chug!

12 oz can. Canned 08/04/16. (Spec’s) Austin, TX.
Clear golden color with a big foamy white head. Citrusy and floral hops, cookies, malt, mild bitterness and some sweetness in the aroma. Not bad. The flavor is resiny and citrusy hops, moderate bitterness, dryness, malt and some sweetness. Quite balanced.

Appearance: Bright, almost clear golden. tiny head of small white bubbles. Nose: Sharp pepper bitter, light malt, touch of sweetness Taste: fairly strong jalapeno pepper burn. Touch sweetness towards the end. Not much else going on Body: lighter and lively Parting thoughts: As you’d expect. I don’t see this getting much drinking outside of dares or experimental one can purchases.

Scopey’s grand vertical. Thanks to Leighton for this one. Clear gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Fluffy malts, some creamy sweetness. Nice floral citrus. Trace of tropical fruits. Light finish leaves a very modest bitter linger. Decent.

Can shared in East Croydon - picked up in Austin. Pours clear honey-gold with a frothy, white head. Rindy citrus in the nose, some white grape, hay, pine. Light to medium sweet flavour with more notes of white grape, crispy pine, hay, light grass, pale bread, melon, tangerine rind. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with light resin, more crisp hay, pine, pale bread, citrus rind. Not bad overall.

Can in Croydonia. Thanks to Leighton. It pours clear pale yellow with a thick white head. The aroma is fresh, sweet, sugared lemons, lychee, sherbet and dull grapefruit. The taste is crisp, bitter, lemony sherbet, soap, grapefruit, floral, white spice, alcohol and white bread with a dry, soapy finish. Light - medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. OK I suppose, but a bit soapy.

Tap at Craft Pride in Austin. Clear pale orange with full head that quickly falls away to a solid collar and whisping across the top. Sweet and fruity aroma. Malt is retained nicely in the flavor profile. Very enjoyable - just gets better and better as it warms.

10 oz tulip draft at the brewery tasting room in Dripping Springs, Texas. The pour is an opaque black brown with a small off white head. The aroma is floral earthy hop along with a soft roast. The taste is a nice blend of the floral hops of the nose, along with a roast malt that carries the finish. The subtleness of the roast made this quite drinkable. The palate is light to medium bodied with soft carbonation and a clean soft floral finish. Nice.

Had this with a meal the first time I tried this, so maybe the food masked just how awful this stuff is. Not sure how to describe the taste, but it is foul. Drain pour. Initial Rating 10/18/2015 of 2.6: Poured from a 12 oz. can at The Scarlet Rabbit. 2 1/2 finger foamy white head, clear straw color. A bit of fruit in the aroma. Taste has a touch of hops, corn, mildly sweet. Crisp, refreshing.

TCBF. Pours a rather odd but interesting off-pink orange-gold with a thin ring head (a note: despite the description above, the brewery rep said this was colored with hibiscus, not red corn). Nose is clean with a slight fruit element to it -- rather non-descript. Clean on the tongue as well, with a nice light sweetness; it does have some substantiality to it, despite the light body, with bready and yeasty notes. Drinks easy. Finish is clean but a little hollow. Decent beer for Texas heat.

Listed as 7.5% at Craft pride but I’m not going to argue about the entry. Pours a hazy golden with orange tint. White sticky head is full and sticks around. Aroma is dank and kind of stinky. Its cool on the palate and very bitter but mostly in the aftertaste. High IBU for sure. Im glad Twisted X is branching out into this category.

Had this on tap and boy was it not good. Appearace was like any other decent amber lager. Aroma slightly vegetal. Taste upfront is fairly innocuous but after a second the jalepeno kicks in with a very strong vegetable flavor and a fair amount of heat. Turns out I like jalepenos, just not in my beer. Yuck.

Pours a hazy orange body with some yeast floaters abound. Decent head and lace, aromas and flavors gravitate towards the biscut and nutty malts with the citrus and piney hops coming around in the middle and having a slightly bitter finish. Decent balance but its a bit malt forward, not bad overall, the name and label are both kinda cool.

Draft @ Twisted X. Black in color with a tad bit of head. The aroma is ok, citrus, pine and weak roast. Then we get to the flavor: Oh, dear god this is out of whack!

The flavor doesn’t have roast to balance the hops. The pine comes off as a very harsh astringency. The body is thin and water with not enough malt backing to support the hops. Something else is off that can’t be explained. If I had brewed this at home it would be finding the drain pipe.

Draft at the source with the glass in my hand. Clear gold color, low carbonation level. Aroma is very faint; weak citrus. Flavor isn’t bad because there is not much here. Straw and grain body with a good amount of bitterness. However the bitterness doesn’t come from any real hop. It’s just bitterness without the hop punch. Maybe I am soiled from New England imperial IPA. But I don’t think so, just lacking. Not undrinkable just real bland.
