Green Flash / Trader Joe’s Fearless Fifty
Pours a pale gold, wispy white head. Aroma is apricot, yeast, light florals, bubblegum. Some coriander, citrus, grassiness, bubblegum on the tongue. I really want to like this because it has some redeeming qualities, but the candy sugar taste brought it down.

[1/31/17] Draught at Deep Ellum in Allston. Nice deep red with a pink head. Aroma of wine, funk, cherries, oak, cellar, cobwebs. Tart flavor, funky, with berries, wine, and a bitterish note. Medium-bodied. Really good.

Green Flash / Trader Joe’s Fearless Fifty
Pours a pale yellow that has a lot of carbonation, with a thin white head. The aroma has heavy bubblegum, as well as yeast, orange, wheat, and floral hops. The taste is dry and with a sharp initial bitterness. Some tart hints as well. I find lots of yeast in here, with compliments of biscuit, lemon, spices, and bubblegum, with the bubblegum coming through most in the aftertaste. Its light in body, with a thin texture, and a large dose of carbonation. This wasn’t among my favorites.

Green Flash Palate Wrecker
No surprise here, Palate Wrecker is packed with tons of American hops. Orange pour. It’s piney, dank, resinous, and bitter. In terms of bitterness, Palate Wrecker may not be the most aggressive beer I’ve ever had, but it fits comfortably in the top 5. Impressively, the feel is bright and crisp rather than being brisk and punishing. It’s not really hyperbolic to call this a wrecker for you palate. I certainly would not recommend trying to do an in-depth tasting of another beer after this. You might even want to hold off on brushing your teeth for a few hours since Palate Wrecker will undoubtedly strip off a few layers of enamel.

Green Flash Cellar 3 Series: Silva Stout
Bottle, 2015 vintage cellared for about a year. Deep dark brown pour with a thin brown head. Aroma is rich with bourbon barrel notes, light roast, and some char. Swirling notes and layers of flavor... complex. Good woody bourbon barrel notes along with espresso and dark chocolate. Some vanilla too. Ends with a bit of char to compliment the sweet boozy barrel treatment.

Green Flash Cosmic Ristretto Black Lager
Bottle: Dark brown color, nearly black, with an ample tan head. Bits of web lacing. Aromatic, light roast and rich espresso notes. The espresso is definitely the mainstay; light bittersweet cocoa and roast, but mostly a rich espresso goodness. Medium to light bodied. Up front I was hoping for more of the Baltic porter influence, but as an espresso beer fan this is quite delicious as is.

Green Flash Soul Style IPA
Pours like a tangelo made of stained glass with a tight head the color of the pith of a grapefruit. The mouthfeel is a bit heavier than a session IPA. Taste is like a floral marmalde with putter virus and good malt balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Green Flash Sea to Sea Lager
Can pour into nonic pint glass from Tuckaway Tavern. Appearance is cloudy pale yellow with greenish tinge, lots of dark brown floaties, nice sparkle and finger-plus width fizzy white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is light cracker and mild floral hops, yeast. Taste is cracker Pilsner malts, yeast. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with foamy texture, lively-to-fizzy carbonation and dry, crisp finish. Overall, straightforward and representative of the style--lack of hop presence makes it not as interesting as the description.

Green Flash Jibe Session IPA
Straw yellow, tons of carbonation. Slushy head on top; not a ton of the lace. Aroma is really pleasant: not sure what hops they use but it’s a little grapey. A touch of citrus. Really nice in the ol’ nasal cavity. The flavor is very salty, surprisingly so. Almost as if they dropped a bunch of sea salt into a beer. Not salty like a Gose. Other than that, it’s a lot of pale ale business. Salty-ass finish!

Green Flash Road Warrior
Draft... This beer rocks!… Deep, dark, dirty-orange pour with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Fantastic retention. The aroma is rindy and lightly musky - grapefruit rind and underarm. Full-bodied with jazzy carbonation. In the flavor, rich malts are outshone by acrid and citrusy hop bitterness. Lengthy, tongue-numbing, lightly bitter finish. World-class beer!

Green Flash Cellar 3 Series: Silva Stout
On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. This is a deep and dark brown looking one, only a small filmy but lacing beige head. I get a immediate wood-up thing blended with all the roastiness. Green strawberry sourness in a way? Strange but nice. Hints of vanilla also, and perhaps some dark wood in the back. Traces of cocoa and chocolate. Tastes quite nice. It has that slight wood acidity on the taste also, not to disturbing, but it is somewhat mouth drying and almost a bit astringent at the beginning. Lots of strong and powerful flavors. Sharp alcohol is present. As is dark bitter chocolate but it’s not heavy or to thick in the mouth. It’s undoubtedly a good one. 02.05.2014

Green Flash Sea to Sea Lager
Draft at Brouwer’s Cafe in Seattle. Quiet, struggling aroma shows malt as saltine cracker and starch, hops as lemon-pepper, and while fermentation is clean, there is a quiet nutty note of autolyzed yeast. Very plain aroma, and in the mouth it’s light bodied, lightly sweet and watery with mild bitterness... it’s nicely crisp and clean, easy to drink without demanding any attention, but just so bland and non-expressive, a shame to see that this is what they came up with given the ingredients they started with.

Bottle purchased at Craft Beer Cellar. Bready and slightly spicy aroma, fairly carbonated. Pours opaque orangey golden. Initially bitter but funky brett and a somewhat alkaline flavor develops as it sits on the palate. The alkaline aftertaste is probably what keeps this beer from being fantastic for me.
