Maui Brewing Lorenzini Double IPA (6th Sense)
Citrus aroma in an amber pour. Hop forward balance with a zesty fruit body and a pithy bitter finish. Not as good as their Big Swell IPA - but better than the Double Overhead (to my mind at least).

Maui Brewing Double Overhead IPA
Restrained tropical aroma in a golden amber pour. Similarly laid back hop forward balance but lacking a distinct body while finish has too much alcoholic heat for my taste. No match for their excellent Big Swell IPA (in my book at least).

Maui Brewing Coconut Hiwa Porter
Dark brown pour with a one finger, creamy beige head. Aroma is all chocolate and coconut, some toast, dark caramel and nutty notes. This stuff smells really tasty. Flavor is roast, chocolate, berry fruitiness, a hint of coffee, roasted nuts. Medium body, creamy feel, medium carbonation. Good stuff, but the aroma is the best part, easily.

Maui Brewing Double Overhead IPA
Pours clear golden with not too excessive white head. Hops are already shooing themselves in aroma, still quite soft and fruity ones. Herbal kick still there. Taste is superbly balanced, bitterness feels somehow separated from the overall soft melony fruity feel this beer has. I don’t know if its just me but recently many beers feel herbal and bitter, also this one. Sweetness has been balanced out nicely, so the alcohol (8.5% or 9%) is nowhere to be seen! Very nice and super drinkable double IPA. Really need to get to Maui sometime soon!

Maui Brewing Hot Blonde
Can, pours a lemon color with a white head. Nose is grainy, bready and blah ! Taste is pretty straight forward ...grainy, flat , and dry typical of unflavored blonde ales. Finish is dry ...not a real lager lover, but it is a thirst quencher...always favored blonde ales with flavor additives. Quaff Score 6 / 10 6-3-6-3-8

Maui Brewing Bikini Blonde Lager
12 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 5/5/2017. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly drying from bitterness as well. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a delicious Helles. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful for the ABV. Nice clean pils malt showcase, with just enough earthy hops to balance. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Maui Brewing Doppel Shot Double Bock
Picked up this can quite a while ago. A fun beer for sure, I don’t know why I never found myself in the mood for a beer like the entire time I had this stashed. A bright, reddish orange pour with a thin film head. A soft and inviting coffee forward aroma. Just barely sweet coffee and cream flavor here, with a little bit of a toasty background. I like that the coffee in this isn’t overpowering, or bitter. It’s got a good amount going on. Much more mild than the abv bill suggests too. Quite impressed with this one. Very enjoyable.
