Pours clear golden with a large frothy white head. Aroma is malty, grainy, citrus, straw, touch of caramel. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness with a slight tart edge. The taste is more of the same, sticky sweet corn, some grass, and something metallic. Palate is thin and watery. finishes short and astringent. hman43	2.8 Regia Extra It pour straw, almost pale straw with a white head. Head retention is good. There is a bit of grainy sweetness with grass in the aroma. There is also a touch of honey. It has some grainy sweetness with flavors of corn and a touch of honey. There is a bit of vinous like flavor at the end of the finish. It has a medium light body and is smooth. This was obviously brewed carefully with a long process of maturation. As a consumer, I’m delighted. Super Pale, lotta corn on the nose. Clean lightly bitter flavor, a touch of sweetness. Aromas of corn & grain. Tastes of corn, grain, hint of apple and not much else. Mild carbonation. Aftertaste is a very light bitterness. KevinReddirt	2.7 Regia Extra With another visit to Gloria’s in Fort Worth, my favorite Salvadoran restaurant, I had a quart bottle of Regia. It pours a pale yellow with no head at all. The taste is grain, corn, water and just a bit of sweetness. That improves with a squeeze of lime and the arrival of the carne asada. Muy bueno, mi amigo. SN11	2.5 Cantina Somewhat a rare find here in IL/USA. I stumbled upon this one by accident. Bottled 12-pack for $6 at a local store. No joke. Pretty decent price so why not try it. I knew right off the bat it's Corona-like. Looks like Corona without the price tag. Never had beer from El Salvador. If it turned out to be very bad, at least I'd have bragging rights that i've had beer from El Salvador. Anyhow, let's see how it tastes. Poured into glass and I minimal head that quickly disappears. Tastes very Corona-like without the strong skunky smell that Corona has. Still has the sweet syrupy/corn flavor and very minimal malt/hops. Pretty light and very very similar to Monterrey (Guatemala) beer. No beer breath after drinking whole bottle. Not bad but forgettable. Still miles better than anything American (budweiser, coors, miller, etc..). If you like this style beer this is a good choice especially that it's not overpriced like Corona. Not bad.
