Metalchopz	3.3 Le Saint-Bock Slush Limonade Rose Hazy, really looking like pink lemonade (not candyish like their Barbe à Papa). The head is frothy, thicker, lasting quite a while, white-pinkish and leaving decent lace spots. The lemonade continues into the smell, with a true juiciness, some mild sourness, hints of rum-alcohol. The taste has a touch more candy-likeness, but nothing like their other candy-beers. Refreshing lemony, sour notes and hints of vanilla. Was not expecting a decent, summer refreshing sour beer like this. Saturday, April 13, 2024
Metalchopz	2.2 Le Saint-Bock Slush Orange A very slight hazed, golden-orange colour with a frothy-bubbly white-orangish head and some spots of lace. The oranges in the nose do have a touch more of candyish-essence found in Orange Crush soda. This continues into the taste, but not as sweet as expected, as not too syrupy. It's like a diluted McDonald's Orange juice, so reminds us of good young times, and but adjusted for our adult ones. A touch sour, but not as much as the Pink Lemonade version I just had, and preferred. Saturday, April 13, 2024
Metalchopz	3.2 Le Saint-Bock Barbe à Papa Rose Pours a lightly hazed, lightly pinkish colour with tiny silver sparkles floating around, a few other particles. The pink frothy head is a little creamy, long lasting and leaving lots of streaky lacing. Cherry vanilla, cotton candy essence aromas. The sourness does come out in the taste with the artificial pink cotton candy that is milder here. A little sweeter than the "mauve" version I had of this a month ago. A cool novelty, a decent sour dessert candy beer that reminds us of carnivals when we were young. One to try, but not to go back as beer drinkers. Sunday, March 3, 2024
Metalchopz	3.4 Le Saint-Bock Barbe à Papa Mauve Lightly hazed, purple colour with a bunch of silver, shinny particles floating around. A big frothy head, off-white with light blueish hue, good retention and leaving thick foamy lacing. Candy aromas on the sweet side. Hints of cherries, artificial essences. Reminds me of that purple mouthwash they gave us in school when we were young. I say this, and I was the only one that did not mind that essence. Not as sweet as expected in the taste, but the sourness is quite mild. Not syrupy, with a short finish. A nice touch on the cotton candy, that is worth trying once. Thursday, January 11, 2024

Fisler	1.9 Le Saint-Bock Green Candyman Grünes Bier also, meine Güte. Meine Autoübersetzung sagt mir, es ginge um saure Leckereien. Klingt ja als wolle Berlusconi zu einer seiner berüchtigten Feiern einladen. Aber den gibts ja nicht mehr. Also steigt die Fete hier. Optisch grün, ja, isso. In der Nase saurer Apfel, also das Zeug mit Zucker im Beutel von Trolli oder so. Im Trunk, jetzt wird’s Ernst, äh, Bowle oder sowas, auf jedenfall sauer, Himmel. Mit Bier hat das nicht mehr viel zu tun, aber bestimmt ein guter Partygag. Tuesday, August 1, 2023
Fisler	3.5 Le Saint-Bock L'Incendiaire Als Bamberger bin ich natürlich sehr aufs Rauchbier gespannt. Optisch klar, in der Nase schonmal korrekter Schinkenspeck, so muss das sein, aber nicht zu derb. Schlenkerla kann also aufatmen. Im Trunk durchaus spritzig, eher ein Kräußen, also nicht direkt die Schinkenkeule, sondern sehr angenehme Rauchnoten im Getreidefeld. Das passt. Aroma brings out gently roasted coffee with a touch of graham cracker, and I can’t shake a black pepper note I get. Flavour is much the same — there’s undeniably that black pepper character, along with tempered with gently roasted coffee. Not sure I can detect the graham cracker. Thick palate, but it’s not that complex or layered. Not bad, but didn’t quite live up to what I hoped for. Tuesday, September 21, 2021

Aroma is complex and integrated, with maple syrup, Belgian yeast, and a nice earthiness that must be from the mushrooms. Flavour is certainly unusual, with lots of fungal earthiness from the mushrooms, tempered maple syrup, and Belgian yeast. I guess it’s the mushrooms that reign in the sweetness, which works. It’s an usual beer for sure, but I think it works. Creative and well-made despite the bizarre ingredients. Tuesday, September 21, 2021

Flavour is along the same lines, with piney and resinous hops, backed by bready caramel malt. Old school, with those chewy malts providing excellent support for the vibrant hop resins. Flavour is rich and impeccably balanced, with lots of caramel, some maple, and peat. Man, that’s really impeccably balanced. Certainly malt-forward but nowhere close to cloying. Flavour is dry and toasty, with earthy toasted malt. There’s not much depth here unsurprisingly. If you’re gonna do such a low ABV porter, somehow you gotta have the chops to still impart flavour. Metalchopz	3.5 Le Saint-Bock Gouden Graham Dark brown colour with copper highlights. A nice creamy light-mocha coloured head, good retention and leaving a good creamy film on the glass. Chocolate malt nose at first, with some dark fruits, mild molasses, coming out with time. Biscuit aromas between the Graham crackers and malt. The taste has the roasted malts giving molasses and dark fruit notes. The mouthfeel is warming with the alcohol, blended with the hop dry finish. The coffee balances the bitterness. A decent Imperial IPA, but still trying to get the crackers in the taste, and more in the nose. Tuesday, September 14, 2021

UM02	3.3 Le Saint-Bock Sanguinaire Can. Clear pour, a fair bit of carbonation though it settles soon enough. Malty taste with some hop bitterness and a faint blood orange sweetness that I am not sure I would have noticed if I did not know it was a blood orange pale ale beforehand. The blood orange flavour is very subtle which is probably a good thing. It is a decent enough pale ale otherwise but there is nothing that stands out about it either. Wednesday, June 23, 2021
