I’m a major fan of Victory Brewery and Sly Fox in Pennsylvania, though at this point time, I like Sly Fox best--they’re less hit-or-miss on their beers than Victory, and the food is fantastic. They’re also not as crowded, and their prices are a bargain for the quality. I recommend Incubus for a triple, the Pughtown Porter, and the Panacea barleywine--all fantastic if you ask me. At Victory, I like the Wild Devil, the Hop Wallop, and the Storm King Stout. In Belgium, my favorite beers are the red Kasteel (a sort of black cherry Kriek with faint chocolate notes), Rochefort 10, Tripel Karmeliet, and the sublime Westvleteren 12. If I had to pick a favorite Belgian, it would be the Westy. Hard to get, but if you ask me, quite worth the journey. [ less ]
