COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oil of Aphrodite is an American double stout with an astounding texture. Multiple different chocolate and caramel malts from all over the world give this viscous brew a colossal character. Belgian candied syrup and locally harvested black walnuts build upon the fortified character, boldly standing up to its voluptuous body. After spending two months aging in stainless steel, the oil was placed into a rum barrel. The oil rested in the rum barrel for an additional 8 months, creating an amazing brew worthy of goddesses and gods alike. A beer passionately created to transcend your glass and provide a truly memorable experience.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2019 Bottle at home, split with Rob ... post ashes saving manbrofest, 25/08/19. Black with a decent tan cap. Nose is dark fruits, chocolate, light black peppery spice, brown sugars, rum rip, toffee melt. Taste comprises ripe dark fruits, bitter edge, dates, prunes, tangy dried fruits, mellow rum barrel, brown sugar pinch. Full bodied, fine carbonation , semi drying close with bitter sweet fruit esters and a balanced boost offered. Decent impy affair, the rum is kept well in check without ever getting too sweet climaxing with a balanced lightly tarte but moderately boosty close.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2019 Dark beer with a thin beige whisp for a head. Bourbon nose. Big thick malt syrup, maple, molasses and lots of rum sugar sweetness. There is a good impy support under there.

Pours an opaque dark brown almost black like oil with the same type of viscosity and khaki colored head. Rum, oak, vanilla, nuts, chocolate, and candy sweetness on the nose; follow onto the palate. Very complex and full bodied. Finishes with plenty of barrel and chocolate.

Bottle. It poured a black color with a brown head. The aroma was fruity, with raisins, caramel, vanilla, chocolate and rum. The taste was similar to the aroma with more roastiness, caramel, chocolate, rum, wood, fruits and nice warming alcohol. Good stuff.

Bottle to snifter. Thick and oily. Lovely nose of rum barrel aging. Started out fantastic but as it warmed it definitely got a little tart. Shouldn’t have waited so long to drink as it’s definitely started to turn but still pretty good.
