Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

Poured into a weizen glass. 3.25 A: Lightly hazed medium orange color. One and a half fingers of frothy white head. Retention is a bit below average and a short ring of lacing is left. 2.75 S: Smells of grenadine. That’s about it. Lots and lots of grenadine. It has a pretty intense nose, but it doesn’t smell a lot like beer. 2.75 T: Tastes like it smells, like they took a perfectly fine wheat beer and went nuts with the grenadine behind the bar. Hints of peppery spiciness as well. 3.75 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Light creaminess. Good here. 3.0 D: I purchased a bunch of SA beers just for the sake of reviewing them here. I wasn’t expecting much, but I always wasn’t expecting that BBC turned into an adult fruit drink company. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 01.02.14. A: See through orange. No head with an aggressive pour. S: Cherry, spices. T: Cherry, wheat, spices, honey. M: Good carbonation. O: This is a good beer. Cherry complements a wit very well, unlike blackberry. It’s not overly sweet, either.

Very speaking cherry smell but slightly lacking in the cherry flavour. Very light fizz which lingers a little. (K.)

A nice golden color with a one finger head. Aroma is totally cherry with a hint of almonds. Taste is cherry and a some wheat. A good beer but after two is too much. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle). Sampled at Marks house. I like the concept and style but the cherry flavor seemed artificial. Worthy of a second sample come next summer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This beer is quite unique. It has the aroma of cherry vanilla but is not over powering. It has been described as tasting like cough syrup but this is not the case. It has a doughy-ness and cereal taste that I would expected in a wheat beer but the use of cherries really makes it unique and one of my favorite beers. Its not too light not too heavy. I really would consider this a dessert beer if there is such a thing, but it would work just as well to have with a burger or just drink by its self.

not a huge fan of the foofy (ie-fruit) beers, but this one works well enough. Nice balance between the crispness of the wheat, malt and the tartness of the cherries. not bad."

Bottle. Amber pour with a nice creamy head that fades slowly. Aroma is just straight up cherry extract. Tastes like cherry extract as well with a light grainy base beer. Very sweet. Not smooth. Hate this beer. Why did someone have to leave this at my house and make me rate it?
