12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Not sure what to think. First sip was good, second sip not so good. Taste seems to fade rather quickly. Old beer? Lots of crap floating through the glass also. Oh well, free beer is free beer!

Bitterbill (3241) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - NOV 9, 2017
From Apr 2008 Bought locally at Poplar Wine & Spirits It pours a very dark brown with a small maybe, 1" head of foam with some lacing. The head retention is average at best. The smell is of roasted and chocolate malt along with some coffee. The taste has a nice roasted malt flavour up front along with some milk chocolate. Coffee shows up to add some good bitterness that lasts right through the finish. A pretty tasty Oatmeal stout with a medium mouthfeel and medium light carbonation. I'm pretty fond of this Alaskan offering as it's a smooth drinker, quite sessionable, and most importantly, has enough taste to keep me interested. The only problem I have in Casper is that the retailers sometimes over stock it and you don't always find fresh product. The one I have is best by 052508 and it's tasting good!

This absolutely hit the mark for me, and with less than a month before coding out. Pours black with a decent sized tan head that leaves some spots of lace. Nose involves dark chocolate, woodsy forest notes of tree bark and light pine, marshmallow, and an after the rain earthy quality. Somewhat sweet, not overly, with quite a bit of bitterness, though not inappropriate. Medium bodied, oily and slick, pretty actively carbed, surprisingly effervescent with a scrubbing quality, finishing rich with notes of toasted malt and chocolate. Really dug this, would have grabbed a 6er had I known what I was in for. Good work.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear but very dark brew, small head that immediately settles to just a bit of scrum. Moderate aroma of toasted malt with coffee and some chocolate notes. Taste is sweet malt up front, roasted notes, some coffee. Middle is a little more coffee. Ends the same. Palate is weak - watery, almost no carbonation, unsatisfying. The weak palate and unremarkable taste profile makes me pine for a better stout. I’m disappointed - this really missed the mark for me.

StoutBeerReviews (482) - Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 13, 2016
Way better than I was originally expecting. strong flavor, more coffee than chocolate, pretty good consistancy, nice and thick, fine low carbonation, not much head. This is up there with founders, just a notch lower I think. Not quitee as much flavor or thickness, but dang good

Along with Yves at his home black colored body with a small off white head and a spicy malt coffee aroma a spicy malt coffee bitter sweet taste with a alcholic bitter finish
