COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the few small grains still grown in southwestern Minnesota, malted rye is the base for this one of a kind ale brewed and aged in tiny Lucan, Minnesota. Following a long, slow fermentation, the beer is stored away in used rye whiskey barrels brought north from our friends at Templeton, located in the equally tiny town of Templeton, Iowa.

Bottle shared at Travis and Nicole's for the L-Town Cuddle Buddy NYE Party. 750 mL bottle. The pour is a darker ruby color with a thin ring of light tan head and no lace. The aroma is spicy rye right up front with a nice sweet alcohol and a darker fruit. This is interesting. The flavor is much of the same. There is a pretty heavy alcohol here. The rye is sweet and spicy with a nice malty sweetness and a bit of light fruitiness. The mouth feel is medium bodied and softly carbonated with a lingeringly spicy rye finish. This is decent, but not my jam. 7 4 7 4 14

Pours hazy caramel with a thin buff head. Aroma offers toasted malt and caramel tones. Flavor presents toasted malt and caramel character. Mouthfeel features good body and OK fizz. Don’t whyne, have some wyne.

Pours a very cloudy burgundy with a small brown head that quickly dissipates. light lacing.. Aroma of figs, raisins, cherries, oak and whiskey. Flavor starts off sweet then gets a little tart before hitting you with some whiskey.Full bodied,low/ flat carbonation, oily/slick mouth feel. This beer brings the alcohol. Not well hidden and thankfully so. Damn good stuff.

Hazy red pour from a 2011 bottle. Malty sweet nose, again in the taste - subtle whiskey with some nice heat and sweetness.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours hazy with a burnt-caramel hue and a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Fantastic retention. The nose furnishes a generous measure of gooey caramel mingled with earthy, oak and rye whiskey notes. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. The flavor is a delicious blend of rich, buttery caramel and rye whiskey. The finish is boozy and quite warm, but smooth; very smooth. Muchos kudos to Bvery for shipping this world class beer from the great white north!
