UPDATED: AUG 14, 2021 Had to try this again as it’s been years. I can say that for me the poor ratings are overdone. I’ve had much worse! Copper colored with disappearing head! Mild aroma and mouth feel with a malty finish. Maybe a kiss of the hops at most. Nothing terrible about this! Four pack of pints at Walmart for 2 bucks and change. Drink the can from a paper bag for effect! Prosit!

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2021 This is a good introduction to the heart of cheap high alchohol American malts liquor. A part of me is very nostalgic to this brew as it was my own introduction to higher gravity brews. Now dont get my review twisted it's far from great it pours with a fair head with little retention but has a very thick lacing. The mouth feel is rather flat but smooth until you swallow then it's very thick!!! Taste is of a full flavored lager until midway through you get a rotten flavor only describable as 'how a skunk would taste'. Halfway through the 40 that goes away. For the price point and the heritage that alot of people have for this brew and where and why it fits in history where it does is mainly why I've rated it as highly as I have and from time to time I will purchase if nothing else out of respect for a surviving brew in history.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2020 Tastes absolutely terrible. You know what though? It’s 2 bucks and very capable of giving you a quick, cheap buzz. Does not go down easy by any means, and it’s probably best to drink when you’re actually intoxicated enough to say “yeah, OE800 sounds good right about now”.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2019 Initial tasting notes: Rich, malty with notes of sewer rat. Quite similar to a Newcastle that had gone warm and had homeless bathe in it for a few weeks. Carbonation was apparent but did little to improve the drinkability of this thick drunk nectar. A few sips in the taste started to improve. No longer could taste the homeless who chose to cleanse themselves and get inebriated at the same time. By the time I finished the first, it reminded me much more of a crisp coors original. By this time the tape around both my hands was slowly cutting off circulation so drinking these rockets of awesomesauce helped ease the pain. The second was pure gold. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. This should not be drank without one being taped to each hand.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2019 Pours wan clear yellow with a white head. Weak aroma is malty, that's it. Malty flavor has a hint of apple. Texture yields so-so fizz and body. Well, had to try it.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2019 Can from Hell's Kitchen Brewtique, Manhattan, New York (July 2, 2019). Better than expected - no taste of alcohol. Similar to the basic US lagers. I see now why this might be an option if you want to get drunk. Well, I'm glad this the regular big can not the gigant size bottle.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2019 Clear yellow color. Thick white head when pouring in a glass. Great for Edward 40 hands (well used to be before these plastic bottles they sell now). Anyways.. Has a bad metallic taste mixed with what I can assume eating straw would taste like but since I’m not a goat I can only assume that’s what it taste like. Overall it’s not terrible and let’s be honest, it does what it is designed for, cheap malt liquor that gets you drunk. Nuff said.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2019 As the great dave chapelle said when he was playing Samuel Jackson in a beer commercial, it'll get you drunk, you'll be f***ing fat girls in no time, you might even fight a ni**a or two, mhmm mm bi**h. Out of the cheap malt liquors its actually semi-tolerable, I'd rank it behind a Mickey's. Flavor is okay, doesnt have that bad of an aftertaste.

superspak (9599) - Greensboro, North Carolina, USA - FEB 9, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 9, 2019 16 ounce can into lager glass, best before 5/2019. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Some fruity corn aromas, but not too overwhelming. Okay aromas with pale malt/grains and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with decent strength. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt/grains and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 5.9%. Overall this is a nice malt liquor. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt/grains and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and pretty refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very clean and nicely rich pils malt/grain showcase, with nice earthy hop presence/balance for the style. Not too overwhelming on adjuncts. A nicely enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected of Miller.
