COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing the perfect ale is truly a balancing act ... Hazardous work you might say. With Hop Hazard our challenge was to hand craft a malt rich base that could counterbalance a combustible five-hop blend and still leave your taste buds with enough room to enjoy a unique, dry-hopped finish.

Cool beer received in an easy trade with dberger624... Thanks Dan!. Pours deep orange with an okay mostly white head.. citrusy hops with some background pale malt and hints of toasted malt.. Medium body for a pale ale, but the ABV is 6.5%, so a little thicker is certainly acceptable... Nice drinkability.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a hazy deep amber color with a big billowy white head. The head fades slowly over time to leave tons of foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is lighter overall consisting of some doughy smells mixed with a little bit of a caramel and a hint of a citrus hop smell of grapefruit. Along with these aromas comes a light grassy smell along with a little bit of a fruity smell of tangerine and orange. Taste – The taste begins with a super bready taste mixed with a little bit of a caramel sweetness and some light hop flavors of a citrus grapefruit nature. As the taste advances the bready taste remains strong and actually takes on some more doughy flavors, which keeps this brew very malty overall. Other lighter hop flavors of pine and grass come to the tongue more toward the middle and the end of the taste and with a little bit of a lemon and some other fruit flavors of a tangerine and peach flavor, along with a hint of hay, one is left with a rather malty and smooth flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the bready flavors and lighter hop flavors of the brew, the feel is rather appropriate, making for a rather nice thicker, more English style 60-90 shilling ale feel. Overall- The brew had a nice flavor, but was more malty and lacked a bit of hop for a pale ale, at least in my opinion. If looking for a malty ale then this is a good choice, otherwise, the hop hazard as stated in the name is very over-rated and not one to take as a truth.

12 oz bottle This is one of the beers from AOPD for August. This is one of the best APAs I have had. The appearance was excellent. Great body and clean aftertaste. The APA poured a cloudy amber with 1/2 inch off-white head and modest lacing. The aroma of citrus hops greets you. The medium body ale had an average carbonation. This is a solid ale with a well balanced citrus hops and a clean dry finish.

Pours a slightly hazy copper from a bottle. Aroma of caramel, tropical and a little piney hoppiness. Flavor similar, hit of bitterness in the middle. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Pours orange-copper with a huge beige head. Caramel, orange, grass aroma. Taste is creamy, orange/caramel malts...soft peel/leafy bitter. A little breadheel. Nothing outstanding, but it’s a pretty good, solid, rich and hoppy APA.

Bottle. Floral orange malt and orange peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with large light tan head. Sweet orange malt and moderately bitter herbal orange peel flavor. Not bad.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Notes of caramel, toast, and a light citrus aroma hit the nose. The beer is a murky copper hue with an off white, creamy and soapy head that has good retention and lace. The taste is slightly north of medium bittersweet. It’s Slick and oily with a smooth foam carbonation, almost creamy. The medium body contains bittersweet citrus and caramel notes along with bread crust. It finishes somewhat crisp and mostly bready with a bitter citrus. It’s lightly astringent and has a burnt aftertaste that’s long mellow with notes of bitter fruit and bread.
