Commercial Description:
A full-bodied lager beer of exuberant and robust character. It’s muscle-man body comes from decocted German malts and noble German hops. Lagered long and cold to refine its strong temperament, St. Boisterous emerges smooth and seductive, with a malty sweet charm. This classic rendition of the German ‘maibock' style will warm your heart.

12oz bottle from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in DC. Pours a clear golden color with a one-finger white head that settles to a little bit of foam on top. Aroma is mild with grain, pale malt, and honey. Flavor is nice and pleasant. Somewhat sweet with pale malt, honey, grain, white pepper, and some mild grassy hops on the finish. Some yeasty notes also that are almost reminiscent of a Belgian pale ale. Body is medium-light and mouthfeel is crisp with fairly lively carbonation. Drinkability is pretty high. Overall this is a solid example of the style.

Pours clear pale gold with a thin white head. Aroma of honey and mild tart berry. Taste is the same with a little bit of bitterness. Light body and overall thin and lacking a little bit.

Pours gold with a white head. Smells of toasted malt, some spicy hints, earthy, some metallic hints, pepper. Tastes lightly fruity and toasty with some peppery splashes and a dusty finish.

Pours a golden color with a quickly dissipating white head that never the less leaves some lacing. Not a powerful aroma: some fruitiness and a little bit of hops in there as well. Some light hops at the end of the taste. Slightly, ever so slightly sweet, with a modicum of bitterness. Yeasty. Not so much of the alcohol taste as some heller bocks have. Nothing really all that complex, but relatively smooth taste.

Pours a golden body with a lasting ring of white head and some legs. Smells of corn and cream. Same flavor. Big body.

12oz bottle pours a clear gold with small ring of eggshell head. Nose of sweet corn and traces of alcohol heat. Flavor is much the same with vanilla and an almost vegetal creamed corn note on the tail. Pretty good for style I’d imagine, but doesn’t really do anything for me. Medicinal burn on the finish. Cool label though.

Pours a clear golden yellow color with a thin fizzy white head that quickly fades. Golden crisp fruit aroma with hints of apple, pear banana, hops and spice. Maltier than I expected with a crisp fruit taste which is not very prominent with a delicate hop presence. Slightly bitter dry finish.

On tap at Mad Mex in State College PA. Gold flat appearance, off to a bad start there, but don’t worry things improved. Sweet aroma, biscuity, unusual aroma, I liked it perhaps a bit sour and yeasty. Candyish palate. Doughy, boozy, very very good.
