COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2021 Rating from Nov 19th 2016. Tap. Hazy deep golden color with a thin frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel and bread. Very sweet taste. Medium body. Quite hard to drink because of its sweetness.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2021 (Bottle) Brownish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly spicy nose with notes of dark bread, orange peel, apricot marmalade, prunes and a touch of clove. Malty, spicy taste with bread, chocolate, candy sugar, dried apricots, orange peel, clove, cinnamon and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made weizenbock. Very nice.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2019 An unfiltered heavy wheat beer. Has a cloudy amberish appearance. Smell has some tart fruit, wheat, yeast....a little piney. Mouthfeel is weighed down a little by the unfiltration and yeast. I messed up slightly on the pour so had to wait for it to settle. Not the best Weizenbock out there, but a good representation nonetheless. Only tried a single first to sample, but this is something I would get again.

t contains all the best traits of both a bock and a weizen. Aroma is full of the yeasty/spicy notes of banana, clove and lemon zest - yet also sweetly malty. Flavor is more of the same.

Not a good beer at all in my opinion. Would not buy another 6 pack or a case what so ever. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours amber with a four finger off white head and an aroma of yeast. Tastes of malt and yeast: banana and bubblegum. It’s medium bodied with minimal carbonation.

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Two months past the best before date. Pours hazy amber with a load of floaters and a small off-white head. Aroma is toffee, banana, phenols, light spiciness. Taste is sweet, slightly boozy, vanilla, caramel, wheat.

12 oz. bottle from Dutch's, purchased in 2014. Best enjoyed by 19 August 2015. Whoops. Didn't see that until tonight. Anyway, it pours a hazy chestnut color with a big off-white head that settles unevenly. Notes of toast, bananas, brown sugar, earth, leaves, chocolate, dried fruits, and wheat. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet, relatively clean mouthfeel for the style. But that could be the age.

Bamsen78 (8425) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - OCT 10, 2017
Draught @ Roasthouse, Frederick, MD. Pours clear orangeish amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with notes of caramel and touches of grain and hops. Sweetish flavour of malt, banana and yeast, with sourish, grainy notes and bitter touches of hops. Dryish and acidic aftertaste with rough and spicy notes. Very decent.
