when will the official bus sign up occur? I think we may have a better head count by then. I know there is a very unactive RBian that may be coming on the bus but hasn’t done much else to make it known,
The bus sign-up sheet in this thread is the official one. ( http://tinyurl.com/pet5nq4) If you know the person and can confirm that they are going to be here, go ahead and add the name.
We also have 20 spots left, so there’s still ample room.

If anyone is planning on sending bottles ahead to one of us and hasn’t got a contact, please message me. Since those packages should get sent this week so they aren’t late. Also, in good news, Via Chicago deep dish pizza is now at Breakside. So if you are hungry it’s a good time to eat. (They’re delicious and very filling.)

Dear Portland RBSG Attendees, The Portland Ratebeer Summer Gathering Planning Committee and New Avenues for Youth would like you to be a part of the 4th Annual Brews for New Avenues, a rare-beer event where 100% of the proceeds raised benefit programs and services for Portland’s foster, at-risk and homeless youth. We are inviting each RBSG attendee to consider donating a beer or beers for use in our Silent Auction or on our Wall of Beer. If you’d like to donate bottle(s), please bring them to the Grand Tasting at the Commons on 6/20. Rarer, more sought after bottles will be reserved for the silent auction, while regional beer unavailable in the Portland market, will become a part of the Wall of Beer. Last year’s Brews for New Avenues event brought some of the world’s most sought after bottles to Portland as well as over 30 special release and rare kegs. Through live and silent auctions, ticket sales and proceeds from the “Wall of Beer,” attendees and those who donated beer raised more than $35,000 for New Avenues for Youth’s programs. (The highest bid of the night was $1,800 for a Cantillon Gueuzestraminer donated by Cantillon Brewery.) This year the event will be held on Saturday, September 12, at the Leftbank Annex in Portland. We expect more than 600 beer enthusiasts, along with breweries and private collectors from around the world. We hope you will consider taking part of this unique event by either donating beer or perhaps even attending. You can learn more about New Avenues for Youth at www.newavenues.org or Brews for New Avenues at www.brewsfornewavenues.org, or by contacting Don at donlowman@gmail.com. Thank you for your consideration. Cheers, Jeremy Herrig, James Bruce, Don Lowman, and Andy LoPiccolo Brew for New Avenues Co-Chairs
