Burnside Couch Select Lager
Pours a half finger of head on a slightly hazy straw body. The aroma is dry grains and a little earthy. Taste has a nice clean bitterness, slight lemon. The texture is crisp and clean. Nice.

Burnside Sweet Heat
Pretty hot! Apricot is there at first, sweet, but then gets utterly blasted by the heat. Sort of unbalanced. Would be nice to pair with food, otherwise, a bit difficult to finish a whole pint. The back of the throat is rocked by heat. An experience non the less...

Burnside Permafrost
Draught at the Pumphouse, Richmond, BC; sleeve (14oz?)
Hazy Amber color, creamy head. Full bodied beer, moderately sweet, with good malt and caramel flavor, strong bitterness;/some hop resins. But also a strong buttery aroma and flavor. Toffee and fudge.
Something is wrong with this one, although it a not too bad.

Bomber. Sweet strawberry aroma with chocolate, roasted malt and rum notes. Pours dark brown with a reddish tinge that also has a thin light brown head with poor retention and very little lacing. Starts with sweet strawberry flavors as well as some chocolatey notes. Finishes smooth with roasted malt flavors as well as some booziness from the rum. Quite nice.

Burnside Permafrost
Small yellow head, irregular, over hazy darker red-amber beer. Fruity & vegetable nose; "forgotten" vegetables, and the fruit is starting to rot.... Banana(peel), caramel, fusels. Bitter-sweet. Finish is nearly wry, but main taste sweet-fruit, as fruitmash with quinine. Retronasal amandine/rosewater; Very slick to viscous, hopoils, tartness backthroat. Some alcohol present. The nose just isn’t right. Drinking is easier.

Burnside Sweet Heat
Medium, snowwhite head over very finely carbonated yellow beer. Sourish nose, citrus or other sour fruit, blossoms, spices. Fresh-smelling. Again fresh, sourish-fruity (maybe peach or apricot), but overpowered by the chili. Chili is really all-imposing. Feels very carbonated. Blast of heat immediately backthroat. Light body. Not very drinkable, this way. Sorry, chili makes it utterly unbalanced.

Burnside Permafrost
On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a hazy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma bursts with many different elements, including dark fruits, resinous hops, caramel malts and candied sugar. Flavour is very sugary sweet, with lots of resinous hops, caramel malts and lots of residual candied sugar. Despite the intense sweetness, I quite like it. Rather cloying, but it’s complex enough to be enjoyable in small amounts. Very good.

Current version’s called Wicked Witch of the Pacific NW, with this deScription "The Project Imperial IPA is now a rotating imperial at the brewers whim. 95% pilsner malt, filled with heavy aromed hops; cascasde, citra, centennialm mosaic and amarillo. So much hop matter it was green in color through most of the fermentation! " And green it is, resiny throughout, an appropriate amber color with moderate off white head.

Burnside / Ramses Bier Mum Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout
This brew makes me rethink my approach to beers, as dogfish head’s 120 minutes ipa caused me to think of a beer as a cocktail. The aroma is powerfully alcohol, with bourbon wood, candied citron.for a stout, very light on the pallet, very smooth. the roasted flavor comes on first and builds, without much else going on--a bit of molasses, alcohol.

Burnside St-Valentine Stout
Tap at Hanshin for Portland/Valentines Day event. The idea for this came from Ai Tani-San of CBB and Burnside came up with the recipe and made it. Aroma: Strawberry, coffee, lots of dark chocolate. Flavor: Chocolate, with a dry, bright, slightly tart strawberry that hits mid-palate. Chocolate finish. Comment: If you like dark chocolate with a some tart red berry character, you’ll probably like this. Not overly sweet.

St. Valentine Stout - 40 lbs of dark chocolate were blended into the kettle with aromatic roasted malt and then infused with pureed strawberries to create a distinct cocoa taste that finishes with a light berry flavor and creamy mouth feel. OK.

Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Delicious.

Rating #1597 - 27.03.2015 - On tap @underground_yeg - @yegbeergirl’s Tap Takeover . Espresso coloured pour with a weak tan head that caps nicely. Aroma is heavy roast malt and coffee. Taste is heavy on roast malt and coffee flavours, very mild sweetness and a tinge of strawberry that blends well with the chocolate flavours and probably summons some sort of aphrodiasic spirit-lord.
