60 Lovely traditional brewpub with a good hearty menu too. We did "starter" sausages, and the gulash sauce was better than the surprisingly gutless horseradish and mustard, Marduk's "small" ribs were big enough for Marduk to hide behind, until after he'd eaten them - you can't hide that. Spacious terrace, no music, very relaxing. Seems like they have up to 6 core beers and a seasonal special. Alas, this summer's Weizen was out for us. They don't do flights, min pour was 300ml, and the top pick was probably the Hanf (hemp) beer, because it wasn't weedy at all, absolutely delicious, but all were decent. Friendly service, and, hilariously, our broken 'Allo-'Allo German was enough to fill the gaps after our English failed. Curiously, they have a 1L PET vending machine in the tunnel leading into the pub, so if you miss any live, grab one to take away. Opens for lunch, so a great place to start a day in town - recommended, certainly. |
76 Visited many times for seasonals. Just great traditional brewpub with many own beers on tap, interesting flavors like cannabis, seasonals. Good prices for center of Vienna. I like this pub. |
72 Decent traditional pub/bar. Reserved signs everywhere, but luckily we were a party of 6 so we got a table. Fair range of beers and the food was tasty. Nice ambiance too. Service was so-so. |
58 Excellent and very drinkable beers, ordinary ambiance (a touristic central-european pub), bad service. We had to wait for every beer for long time (experience from two visits). |
80 Delicious beers, good food, nice ambiance. |
80 Brewpub bastante grande, amplia selección de cervezas, casi todas agradables. Comida rica. Bien. |
66 No too far from some sightseeing objects, but still some walk, prolly depends what's your starting point. Nice brewpub. They had a beergarden too so that was a bonus. English spoken barely, but they understood my german (I have never ever learnt german at school) so that was a bonus.
Good prices and natural shnitzel was excellent. Will come back. |

74 To be honest yes it’s touristic, but the location is nice and the beers more than ok so why complain for it !? I had a good knuckle and 3 beers . Ok place |
76 Next to Salm-Bräu the most touristical brewpub of Vienna. It's always full and if you want to have lunch, be sure that you have a reservation.
The beer is good and it is the only spot i know where house-brewed IPA is served on tap.
Due to the touristical visitors, there's a menu in English, Italian and Russian and these languages can really be heard in the restaurant. One problem is that the number of toilets is not approbriate to the number of guests.
It is a nice spot, but not my favourite. |
